Skolen
Skolen er renoveret og ombygget i 2005-
06 og igen i 2009. På Struer Statsgymnasium
vil du møde et spændende og
internationalt studiemiljø, hvor der er et
godt socialt samspil mellem eleverne på
skolens fem uddannelser STX, HHX, HG,
HF og IB-Diploma, som er den internationale
studentereksamen. Fra august
2010 går der ca. 650 elever på skolen.
Desuden er der mulighed for at bo på
skolens ny-renoverede kostskole. Kostskolen
har cirka 90 danske og udenlandske
elever boende. På kostskolen har du
adgang til forskellige aktiviteter fx et nyindrettet
fitnessrum samt et lydisoleret
musikrum. Skolen ligger tæt ved banegården
med let adgang til tog og bus.

På SSG møder du ”Faglighed, kreativitet,
samarbejde og fællesskab”. Det er
vigtige ord og værdier for skolen, men

til at give de fine ord indhold, liv og
udvikling.
Med dette som udgangspunkt vil vi være
en levende skole, hvor der er udfordringer
og muligheder for alle skolens elever.
Skolen skal være et ”godt lærested” og
et ”rart værested” med mange aktiviteter
ud over den almindelige undervisning.
Det vigtigste og primære i skolens
arbejde er, at den faglige undervisning
er på et højt fagligt og pædagogisk
niveau, hvor elevernes engagement og
nysgerrighed efter at lære noget er i
centrum.
The IB diploma at
Struer Statsgymnasium
The IB Diploma is a highly respected
international pre-university course
that is recognised by universities and
governments throughout the world. The
IB Diploma emphasizes intercultural
understanding and promotes an international
consciousness. The language
of instruction is English.
Students who have finished the Danish
ninth or tenth grade or students from
abroad with similar qualifications, i.e.
a minimum of ten years’ schooling are
admitted to the pre-IB, which prepares
the students academically for the challenges
of the Diploma Programme and
gives non-native speakers an opportunity
to improve their English proficiency.
When it comes to contents, the pre-IB
course is equivalent to the Danish STX.
Students with a school record of eleven
years are admitted directly to the IB
Diploma Programme. The Diploma
programme is a two year course and
consists of six subjects representing the
different faculties – languages,humanities,
science, mathematics and the arts.
There are three additional core elements.
• The Extended Essay: A research paper
on a topic of the student’s choice
• Theory of Knowledge (ToK): An interdisciplinary
course of critical thinking
• Creativity, Action and Service (CAS):
A total of 150 hours of voluntary, extracurricular
activities
