Christina Maria Rieder, also known as Rykka, represents Switzerland in<br />

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the sumptuous ballad “Last of Our Kind”.<br />

18:15–18:35 Presenting: Eneda Tarifa from Albania<br />

Eneda Tarifa represents Albania in Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with<br />

the RnB-song “Fairytale”. In Albania she is known as an actress, TV-host,<br />

songwriter and singer.<br />

19:00–19:45 ABBA - The Choir<br />

ABBA’s immortal songs in a magical choir setting. Listen to Dancing<br />

Queen, Mamma Mia and other gems in The Choir’s repertoire. The choir<br />

was started by ABBA The Museum to celebrate the 40 year anniversary<br />

of ABBA’s international breakthrough at the Eurovision Song Contest in<br />

Brighton 1974.<br />

20:00–21:00 Martin Stenmarck<br />

Martin Stenmarck’s big breakthrough came when he won Melodifestivalen 2005 with<br />

the song ”Las Vegas”. This year he competed with the song “Du tar mig tillbaks”.<br />

He will perform in Eurovision Village with his own band.<br />

DAMMEN<br />

12:00–15:00 Bollywood Opera with Dogge Dogelito<br />

Rossini’s comical opera ”Italian girl in Algiers” has been transformed into a fantastic<br />

Bollywood-film performance. The famous rap-artist Douglas Leon, more known as<br />

Dogge Doggelito, plays Kapten Hali. The opera is a unique performance with a large<br />

ensemble consisting of opera singers, musicians, dancers and children, both professional,<br />

internationally known stars and amateurs from Botkyrka. They let us revel<br />

in sensuous Rossini coloraturas and Bollywood dancing in a colourful firework of<br />

festive music and dancing. On the stage in Dammen in Eurovision Village we will get<br />

a sample from the coming show.<br />

21:30–00:00 Club night: Soul train<br />

An evening with a superb mix of soul, funk, disco and RnB from the<br />

70’s until today. The club is hosted by DJ Anders Müller and René Disteli<br />

Hedemyr, a duo that has filled dance floors every night for four years.<br />

Now the club will move out to Dammen in Eurovision Village for one<br />

An evening with Ted Gärdestad’s music and his brother Kenneth’s lyrics<br />

Ted Gärdestad would have turned 60 this year and competed four times in Melodifestivalen.<br />

That’s why we celebrate him tonight.<br />

19:00–19:15 The Ted Gärdestad scholarship<br />

For the 17th year in a row, the Ted Gärdestad scholarship is awarded by two of the<br />

founders of the Ted Gärdestad memorial fund, Janne Schaffer and Kenneth Gärdestad.<br />

19:30–21:30 The celebratory concert Sol Vind och Vatten<br />

The concert is built on Ted Gärdestad’s original<br />

arrangements. The host is Janne Schaffer, who was<br />

Ted’s personal friend and played on almost all of his<br />

songs. He talks about the music, about the person Ted<br />

was and also joins the band. Soloists Sonja Aldén and<br />

Kristin Amparo are brilliant Gärdestad’s interpreters<br />

and have been handpicked alongside Johan Boding<br />

whose vocal pitch is very similar to Ted’s high tenor.<br />

The musical director Peter Ljung has gathered<br />

some of Sweden’s top musicians. The concert contains<br />

some of Ted’s most popular songs and had<br />

been performed all around the country with splendid<br />

reviews. This is the first time it’s played in Stockholm.<br />

Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and the Stockholm Department for<br />

Human Rights and Democracy arrange this concert with artists<br />

who through the power of music fight for a better world.<br />

Ramy Essam from Egypt, whose music has become a soundtrack for a generation of<br />

young Egyptians and their fight for a better future.<br />

Maxida Märak from Sapmi sisters works passionately for the equal rights for the<br />

Sami people and combines beats, rap and jojk in a mix completely unique to her.<br />

Adam Tensta is one of the biggest Swedish hip hop artists and has gotten a lot of<br />

attention for his commitment to equality and fight against racism.<br />

Systraskap creates timeless and rebellious electro.<br />

During the concert Freemuse gives out their annual award to a musician that has<br />

fought censorship. Freemuse is a non-profit organization that monitors different<br />

kinds of censorships affecting artists all over the world.<br />

There will be lots of music; pop, rock, jazz, big band and funk, when students from<br />

Europe’s largest school of the arts, Kulturskolan Stockolm, enter the stage. Come<br />

listen to a fun, fast-paced and charming show!<br />

15:45–16:45 Talk: Music – a human right?<br />

Around the world, artists, musicians and authors are living under threat and persecution<br />

because of their art. Sweden is one of the countries in the world that is most<br />

generous and open towards refugees fleeing persecution because of their artwork.<br />

Networks, municipalities and the government are deeply committed to this issue.<br />

Why and how are artists being censored? Why are foreign artists given refuge in<br />

Sweden?<br />

Welcome to an important discussion,<br />

moderated by music journalist Ametist Azordegan.<br />

Panelists: Lavon Volski, Belorussian musician, Sissela Nordling Blanco, chairman for<br />

For the first time in Eurovision Song Contest’s history, the inauguration is initiated<br />

by a flag ceremony. Come watch when the 42 competing nations’ flags are raised in<br />

front of the EuroClub in a celebration of the “Come together” theme. Soldiers from<br />

the Swedish Life Guards will raise the flags and the Royal Swedish army band performs.<br />

Artists and musicians will walk the red carpet in front of the EuroClub before attending<br />

Every hour you can enjoy the show and every 30 minutes there is an introduction<br />

songs like Aquarius, Art is calling for me and For good from Wicked.<br />

12:25 Västerholms friskola performs ”The Musical of Love”, a Bollywood inspired musical with Western elements. The<br />

students sing, both solo and in the choir, act and dance. They have named the musical “The Musical of Love” since they<br />

believe that love conquers all.<br />

12:50 Herman Wiegelt from Olovlundsskolan performs Måns Zelmerslöws winning Eurovision entry “Heroes”.<br />

13:10 Adolf Fredriks skola performs songs from the musical “De Hemligas Ö” where two scout groups are ship wrecked<br />

on a deserted island and are forced to find ways to survive.<br />

13:35 Askebyskolan in Rinkeby gives an international programme with Somali dance and South African songs.<br />

14:00 Eiraskolan is trying to find the meaning of the Eurovision Song Contest tagline “Come together”. Everybody has<br />

a place in a unified Europe. Besides telling us what “Come together” means we will hear songs, everything from “Crazy<br />

Frog” to “Goliat” by Laleh.<br />

14:20 Students from Södermalmsskolan perform their own song “Party boys” and dance to “Blow in the Dark”.<br />

On May 11 it’s 35 years since Bob Marley passed away. Daniel Lemma and<br />

Hot This Year Band honor the legend with a reggae concert. Daniel Lemma<br />

has just released the much noted album “Common ground”, and the<br />

single “Mr Hibbert” is frequently played on radio.<br />

A number of the participating artists in this year’s competition will perform live on the big stage,<br />

for instance Spain, Australia, Great Britain, Georgien, Cyprus and Switzerland. Previous winners<br />

Children’s book bus<br />

Saturday May 7 and 14 12:00-19:00<br />

The Children’s Book bus will arrive at Eurovision Village on<br />

May 7 and 14 with books about music - with song, dance and<br />

music. Kids can also make their own instrument- maracas. In<br />

the book bus you can also listen to fairy tales or have your<br />

face painted.<br />

Studiefrämjandet<br />

Studiefrämjandet is the largest student union in Sweden and<br />

they will have a number of fun activities in Eurovision Village.<br />

May 6–8 Cosplay and dance battle! Learn more about the<br />

phenomenon that is Cosplay (costume play) with the help of<br />

Nancy who will enter the national Cosplay championships.<br />

In the dance battle you get to show your moves on a dance<br />

mat - the highest score wins a prize.<br />

May 9–14 Music days with iPad studio! Come make your own<br />

hit song or sing along to one of your favorite schlagers. On<br />

Saturday May 14 the hit of the week is presented!<br />

ABBA museet<br />

May 6–14<br />

ABBA The Museum will also be located in Eurovision Village<br />

in the form of a pop-up museum! Take photos with the<br />

schlager legends, see the ABBA costumes from the Eurovision<br />

Song Contest or try crocheting a hat in true Waterloo<br />

style. Tickets to the museum, as well as ABBA The Museum<br />

merchandise is for sale.<br />

City Skyliner<br />

April 29–May 22 Opening hours: 10:00–00:00<br />

Visit the City Skyliner attraction and get a completely breath-taking<br />

and unique view of the inner city. City Skyliner<br />

is an 81-meter tower, which is placed in Eurovision Village<br />

between April 29 and May 22. It offers a 360 degree panoramic<br />

view of Stockholm and is accessible to wheelchair users.<br />

It takes 60 people at a time and costs SEK 100 per person.<br />
