.Johanna Bermúdez-Ruiz, is an award-winning filmmaker, whose films have been shown

worldwide. She is of Afro-Amerindian lineage native to St. Croix of Puerto Rican

heritage. Johanna currently resides in St. Croix where her film production company,

Cane Bay Films, LLC, is based.

Johanna is a writer, producer, editor, and director of documentaries, films, and music

videos. Her award-winning documentaries are: VIEQUES: AN ISLAND FORGING FUTURES,


PARADISE. She recently wrote and directed the short romance drama film, SOLÉNE.

Johanna worked on film production throughout New York City. She worked closely with

renowned acting coach, producer, and writer Susan Batson, Susan Batson Studio, LLC.

who has worked with talent such as Nicole Kidman, Oprah Winfrey to name a few.

Johanna has worked with Lauren Vélez (I LIKE THAT), David Zayas (DEXTER), and

Guillermo Diaz (SCANDAL).

Johanna has taught and lectured at Hunter College, Princeton University, New York

University, Rutgers University, and the University of the Virgin Islands, to name a few. She

has received a proclamation from New York State Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell

IV, for her contribution to preserve the culture and history of Vieques through her film


Johanna Bermúdez-Ruiz

Johanna Bermúdez-Ruiz has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a

focus in filmmaking from Antioch College, Ohio. She is currently an active member in

several associations and professional organizations as one of the founding members of

the New York City Chapter National Association of Latino Independent Producers

(NALIP); a member of the International Documentary Association (IDA), European

Documentary Network (Denmark) and a recent member of American Film Institute



Norma Krieger has an extensive professional art background as a respected

producer, curator and educator. With more than 20 years of experience, providing

visionary strategic oversight and leadership to corporate industries such as

worldwide advertising agencies, galleries, cultural institutions, and community


During her fourteen (14) year tenure on Madison Ave at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide

Advertising, Marketing and Communications | New York, N.Y.C. she served as

senior art buyer/producer working on major fortune 500 brands such as IBM and

American Express leading teams of up to 100 on large complex, worldwide

production advertising campaigns. Locations included London, England; Paris,

France; Berlin, Germany; Lake Cuomo, Italy; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; and Tokyo,

Japan. Concurrently at Ogilvy & Mather, she served as Curator, Gallery Manager

for their exclusive corporate art gallery.

The academic institutions of RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) and Pratt

Institute Graduate School both recognized her expertise and invited Norma as

adjunct instructor to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in

photography, planning, visioning and branding aspects of the advertising and

marketing industries.

Norma Krieger

Norma has a B.A. in Arts Administration, with a minor in Arts Education from the

prestigious Pratt Institute. She is currently an active member in several associations

and professional organizations to include chair of Pratt Institute Alumni New York

City Network, U.S. Virgin Islands Tourism Ambassador and is a member of AWAD

(Association of Women Art Dealers NYC).


Jerry Garcia is a marketing and communications professional with over 25 years of

experience. He has developed and implemented many successful marketing and

public relations campaigns over the years.

Jerry has worked in both the private and public sectors spanning from a top

position on Capitol Hill to an executive in a Manhattan based advertising agency.

He has lived and worked in six different countries which enforces his approach in

making sure cultural and social norms are inclusive factors highlighted in all his


As an innovator, Jerry has developed creative and new marketing approaches for

companies such as PuntoCom in Italy, H&M in Sweden, Department of Tourism in

US Virgin Islands and American Express in Great Britain.

He is currently an active member in several associations and professional

organizations to include E-Marketing Association, American Marketing Association,

Marketing and PR Innovators and US Representative Former Chief of Staff.

D. Jerry Garcia

Jerry doubled majored, receiving his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia,

in Rhetorical Communications and Psychology and went on to obtain his master’s

degree in organizational development, with a concentration of business marketing

from the University of Dusseldorf, Germany.


Ashley Lucio (née Posella) is a communications executive and content producer,

helping deliver multimedia content to Fortune 500 companies. With more than 20

years of experience leading production teams, Ashley is passionate about creating

campaigns that are approachable, relevant, inspiring and thought-provoking.

Serving as a director at American Express and most recently at Phillip Morris

International, Ashley has led corporate content labs for more than a decade. She’s

also provided consulting for Capital One, Johnson & Johnson and Northwell Health,

and has partnered with agencies like Feisty Brown.

A creative spirit, Ashley has experience as an art director and copywriter for the

award-winning marketing agency i33 (now 360i). There she led campaigns for

Sprint, the American Heart Association, MSKCC, and Ethan Allen. She briefly

managed PR teams in the music industry – working with notable talent like Jay-Z

and Prince. Ashley also spent several years at Marvel Comics as a colorist (titles

include Captain America, Groo and X-Factor) and editorial assistant. Her career

began in Ohio in the 1990s, where she assisted Oscar-winning filmmakers Julia

Reichert and Steven Bognar.

Ashley has an M.A. with Distinction in Communications from New York Institute of

Technology and a B.A. in Visual Arts from Antioch College, as well as a certification

from Arizona State University for Communications Leadership. She currently resides

in Lausanne Switzerland and Miami, Florida.
