St. Petersburg. Russia | 2021-2022
Graduation team project | part one
The problem of using former industrial zones is one of the
main issues in urban planning today. As a part of the team
of four people I developed the project of reorganization of
the territory of the Seaport of St. Petersburg. The goal of
future development is creation of a new marine area
focused on improving the quality of lives as well as
creation of a modern center of Saint-Petersburg.
Rains, rivers and the Baltic Sea - in
Saint-Petersburg water is everywhere. And
this is what I love about the city, what makes it
unique. I often look into puddles and see the
beauty of the reflected, magical city.

unique city districts
While the city core of St. Petersburg is located
in the historical center, the seaport area
occupying 14% of the city has potential to
become a new center of activity, a symbol of
the modern city. Its transformation can be an
important impetus to the city development. The
project is relevant due to the plans to transfer
port facilities from St. Petersburg to Ust-Luga,
the largest Russian port of the Baltic Sea.
The seaport area is located to the south of the
historical center and forms part of the marine
facade of St. Petersburg. The territory is mostly
occupied by various industries, port and
engineering facilities. There is lack of
transport facilities, except for railways,
which are currently used for industrial needs.
However, the territory is crossed by a highway
providing connection to the city districts.

The concept of the Kanonersky Island is based on
greenspace expansion and sustainable development
of the territory. The “green core”is formed by a
landscape park consisting of a system of green
islands and divided into theme zones. A spa centre
designed in the quite relaxation area of the park is
one of the main attractors on the island.
Every April I go to the river and make paper boats. There is a
special beauty in origami, it is about us feeling free and natural
as children. It is about the ability of spontaneous lines to form
something entirely new.

As a part of the “green core”on Kanonerskiy Island, a project
of the new park has been developed. The concept is based on
dividing the park into four main zones dedicated to such
components of rest as relaxation, sports and games, creativity
and nature walks. The project involves integration of different
elements - water, nature and the urban landscape.
Solving a problem of the lack of green recreational areas, the
park becomes citywide due to the expansion of the Kanoneksky
island area. The park area is devided into islands to create a
dynamic and unique natural landscape and provide the
environment for interaction with water. Creating a green
dam allows to protect the watefront from flooding.

Concept.
In the spa centre there is a system of
inside and outside spaces flowing into
each other. One of the main principles
is spatial and visual relation between
the building and the landscape. Being
a place for both social activity and
relaxation, the spa centre combines
wide range of activities.
Connection with
the landscape
Balance of social
activity and
relaxation
Design.
The design is based on a landscape architecture.
The spa centre is located in the natural area
so the surrounding park affects its perception.
Recreation spaces around the building smoothly
flow to the roofs and the lake is integrated into
the outdoor spa area. Large windows create a
visual connection between interior and exterior.
The building design combines smooth
lines and sharp angles. The contrasting
combination of shapes – rounded walls and
chaotic bends of roofs refers to the nature
and its balance of diversity. Such materials
as wood and textured concrete support the
general concept of naturalness.

London. UK | 2020
Individual course project
The aim of my project is to restore the
destroyed part of urban space and make it
attractive for both local residents and tourists.
Special historical features such as multinational
culture and street art are taken into account.
I love to capture movement. It shows concentration
of constant life of a city. It consists of many unique
changing parts but it is all solid.

The design area consists of two zones - the
former Shoredich metro station and the
Shoreditch Street Art Tours Nomadic
Community Gardens, where the public garden
used to be located. The old station is located
near the famous street of East London -
Brick Lein. The station building which is the
main designed object was extended with
preserving its historical part.
Within this project I also designed an open
recreational space next to the former station
building and a landscape park across the
street. In the new landskape park there is a
large exhibition area, a zone where creative
workshops and events can be hold, a stage for
open concerts, a market area. Various
recreational areas, play grounds and food
courts are also provided.

The area has security problems. Bad quality
of lighting and the fact of abandonment have
caused an anti-social behavior in the area,
especially at night. To solve this problem, large
areas of glazing are provided for good visibility.
The appereance of the old brick station is preserved.
Brick, concrete and glass are used as
the main materials of the attached part. The
new building corresponds to the atmosphere
of multicultural and creative East London.
To preserve the authentic atmosphere of the
district, there will be street art presented on
the territory of the creative center. There are
also special walls for visitors’paintings
located in the area of art classes.
The designed environment has a focus on the
creative industry. In the reconstructed
building, there are various art studios, cafes,
an exhibition space, a lectorium and shops
where crafted items can be sold.

Concept.
The concept of the hotel provides connection
with the nature in a big city with fast pace of
living. There is not enough greenery in the
center of Saint-Petersburg, so a multi-level inside
garden with recreational zones is located
in the hotel.
After a busy day, there is an opportunity to
relax in the inside garden area which can also
be used for private business meetings. In the
summer period quests can spend time in a
recreational area of the courtyard or go up to a
chill-up zone on the roof.

Individual internship project
I believe that the environment we live in has a
great influence on our mood and mental health.
Our home should be a place we are happy to
return to, where we feel cosy and safe.
My home always reflects me. When this connection
breaks and the environment is alien, there is no
more emotional support from the place I live in.

Kitchen.
The apartment is located in the centre of
Saint-Petersburg, in a historical building. It
is redesigned for an intelligent woman in her
forties. The place used to have a soviet layout
which was very uncomfortable for living. So
the layout was changed to create spacious and
light rooms without unused spaces.
I was inspired by the midcentury style with
its beautiful wooden furniture. I wanted
the apartment to be elegant and a little
old-fashioned but cosy at the same time. It
is the place where unique items with great
history will perfectly fit, but it also suits an
open-minded moden person.
Cooking area is
hidden in a niche and

Individual work
I see a lot of beauty in details and
try to express my feelings through
different forms of art - photography,
graphic design, sketching.
Our world is versatile and beautiful. I only try to find tools to
show my vision of it. It is wonderful who many great things we
can create with our minds and imagination.

Poster.
I designed a poster for the International Ideas
Competition, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of
Felix Candela. My idea was to combine Candela’s
different projects on one picture that would express
my perception of his masterpieces. My work was
mensioned by the jury and included in a list of the
best works.
Photography.
Photography is my way to capture the beauty of the
world as I feel it. Using film or digital camera I try to
express myself through a photo, no matter is it
nature, still-life or selfportrait. I love to experiment
and look at things from a different perspective,
through water or glass, for example.
