Introducción al <strong>Programa</strong><br />
<strong>de</strong> <strong>Clubes</strong> <strong>Leo</strong><br />
Historia y objetivo <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong> programa <strong>Leo</strong><br />
En 1957, el Club <strong>de</strong> <strong>Leo</strong>nes <strong>de</strong> Glensi<strong>de</strong>, Pensilvania,<br />
EE. UU., patrocinó el primer club <strong>Leo</strong> <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong> mundo, el<br />
Club <strong>Leo</strong> Abington, con 35 estudiantes.<br />
En octubre <strong>de</strong> 1967, la Junta Directiva <strong>de</strong> la Asociación<br />
(LCI) adoptó el <strong>Programa</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>Clubes</strong> <strong>Leo</strong> como programa<br />
oficial. El objetivo <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong> <strong>Programa</strong> <strong>de</strong> clubes <strong>Leo</strong> es:<br />
"... Dar a la juventud <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong> mundo, individual y colectivamente,<br />
la oportunidad <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>sarrollarse y contribuir<br />
como miembros responsables <strong>de</strong> la comunidad local,<br />
nacional e internacional”.<br />
Los clubes <strong>Leo</strong> cumplen este objetivo todos los días y<br />
enriquecen a la comunidad. Las activida<strong>de</strong>s y obras <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong><br />
club <strong>Leo</strong> mejoran la comunidad y ayudan a los jóvenes<br />
a perfeccionar y practicar su li<strong>de</strong>rato, organización y<br />
<strong>de</strong>strezas sociales. La participación en el club <strong>Leo</strong><br />
pue<strong>de</strong> instilar en los jóvenes toda una vida <strong>de</strong> compromiso<br />
con la ayuda a los <strong>de</strong>más.<br />
Lema <strong>Leo</strong><br />
Li<strong>de</strong>rato: Los <strong>Leo</strong>s adquieren habilidad como organizadores<br />
y motivadores <strong>de</strong> sus compañeros.<br />
Experiencia: A través <strong><strong>de</strong>l</strong> servicio a la comunidad, los<br />
<strong>Leo</strong>s apren<strong>de</strong>n la importancia <strong>de</strong> la cooperación.<br />
Oportunidad: Se permite a los jóvenes alcanzar la<br />
excelencia, adquirir rasgos <strong>de</strong> carácter positivos y recibir<br />
tributo por sus contribuciones a la comunidad.
