DE PEDIATRIA
1.- Tener una política de Lactancia Materna escrita que sea
periódicamente comunicada al personal.
2.- Entrenar a todo el personal para implementar esta política.
3.- Informar a toda mujer embarazada sobre los beneficios y
manejo de la Lactancia Materna.
4.- Ayudar a las madres a iniciar la lactancia durante la primer
media hora después del parto.
5.- Enseñar a las madres cómo amamantar y cómo mantener
la lactancia aún si se separan de sus bebés.
6.- No darle a los recién nacidos ningún alimento ni bebida
que no sea leche materna. Hacerlo sólo por indicación médica.
7.- Practicar el alojamiento conjunto, dejar que los bebés y
sus madres estén juntos las 24 horas del día.
8.- Fomentar la Lactancia Materna a libre demanda.
9.- No dar tetinas, chupetes u otros objetos artificiales
para succión a los bebés que están siendo amamantados.
10.- Promover la creación de grupos de apoyo a la
Lactancia Materna y referir a las madres a estos grupos.
