“Navega tu embarcación por las
turbulentas aguas ¡sin dejar caer tu
tripulación! Tira el dado y prepara tu
barco para la aventura, ayudándote
del equilibrio, el magnetismo y la
suerte. Corre una carrera con la app
Lipa Pirates Race e intenta cruzar la
meta sin perder tu valioso motín.”
PRODUCTO
Todos a Bordo es juguete de
balance y magnetismo, con temática
pirata, que tangibiliza la experiencia
de juego de la app Lipa Pirates
Race. El juego consiste en apilar
muñecos imantados sobre el barco,
para luego balancearlo y jugar una
carrera virtual con el smartphone
proyectado en la TV, sin dejar caer
los muñecos.
“Sail through turbulent waters and
don’t let your tripulation fall! Throw
the dice and prepare your ship for
this great adventure, with a little
help from balance, magnetism and
luck. Run a race in the app Lipa
Pirates Race and try to cross the
finish line without losing your
precious shipload.”
PRODUCT
Todos a Bordo is a pirate-themed,
balance and magnetism toy, which
makes tangible the game app Lipa
Pirates Race. The game consists of
stacking magnetic action figures
over the ship, and then balancing it
to run a virtual race with the smartphone
casted in the TV, without
letting the action figures fall.

El mate es una infusión tipica de
Uruguay y la región. A pesar de ser
un elemento cultural de gran peso,
el mate presenta problemas funcionales
específicos, como su transporte.
Éste presenta algunos inconvenientes,
como su peso, la posibilidad
de derrame de agua caliente y
yerba, entre otros.
Este proyecto se enmarca en la
metodología de Diseño Centrado en
las Personas (co-diseño), involucrando
al productor (Mates Ortiz),
usuarios y diseñador equitativamente.
PRODUCTO
Poncho es un dispositivo sellador
del conjunto mate-bombilla que
facilita su almacenamiento y transporte.
Se produce artesanalmente
en cuero, en tres tamaños estándar
que se adaptan a las múltiples
dimensiones de los mates del
mercado.
Mate is a typical infusion from
Uruguay and the region. In spite of
being an important cultural element,
the mate has specific functional
problems, such as its transportation.
This presents some inconveniences,
like its weight, the possible hot
water and yerba spillage, between
others.
This project takes part in the
Human-Centered Design approach
(co-design), involving producer
(Mates Ortiz), users and designer in
equal parts.
PRODUCT
Poncho is a sealing device for the
mate, which facilitates its storage
and transportation. Its handcrafted
in leather, in three standarized sizes
which adapt to the many different
mates present in the market.

Diseño de dispositivo médico
Partiendo del análisis e investigación
de un contexto determinado
(cancha de baby fútbol en Montevideo)
se detecta como problemática
la falta de dispositivos adecuados
para la correcta atención médica de
niños en casos de accidentes.
PRODUCTO
Presto es un dispositivo transportable
para la inmediata atención
médica de heridas leves a moderadas
en niños de 6 a 11 años.
Se busca que el dispositivo sea
simple y liviano, que se adapte tanto
a la situción de uso dentro de la
cancha como fuera de ella, así como
también a la situación de traslado y
el lugar de guardado.
Considera aspectos ergonómicos
del niño, así como también psciológicos
y emocionales.
Starting with the analysis and
investigation of a particular context
(children’s soccer field in Montevideo),
the lack of proper devices for
the correct medical attention of
accidented children is spotted as a
main problematic.
PRODUCT
Presto is a transportable device for
the immediate medical attention of
mild to moderate injuries of children
from 6-11 years old.
The device is simple and light, and
can be used either inside or outside
the soccer field. its transportation
and storage is also considered.
It considers ergonomic aspects of
the child, as well as pshycological
and emotional ones.
