Herrankukkaro – Mama’s Pocket was one of the destinations to be introduced to
39 international, successful bloggers in the Nordic Blogger Experience (NBE) – event,
which was organized as a part of the MATKA travel trade fair in Helsinki 2015.
On Jan 12, just few days before the opening of the trade show, the bloggers arrived in the
Archipelago and in Mama’s Pocket, guided by Turku Touring, the local DMC.
It was snowing heavily, the sea water level was exceptionally high and the heat in the famous
smoke sauna as soft as usual – all that worked well. The Finnish wintery Archipelago really
inspired the international bloggers.
NBE Finland is a blogger-event organized by MATKA Nordic Travel Fair and Visit Finland, with
the total amount of nearly 2,5 mio readers. The event was well commented by the media,
the local daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat published an article and posts were placed in
Twitter and Facebook. In the article of Helsingin Sanomat Mama’s pocket
was the only single hotel venue mentioned in the list of the 9 best things
in Finland, chosen by the bloggers. Also the Fotostrasse blog strongly
highlighted the awesome old fishing village.
Herrankukkaro is located in Turku/Naantali, just 2 hours drive from Helsinki.
