<strong>BIO</strong>GRAPHY<br />

Fascinating violinist, prizewinner of international comp<strong>et</strong>itions (Avignon in 2005, Andrea Postacchini<br />

and Nuri Iyicil in 2008), Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong> has been rewarded with multiple awards including the<br />

"Most Enthusiastic Stage Performance" Prize (Nuri Iyicil Comp<strong>et</strong>ition in Istanbul) whose title<br />

wonderfully gre<strong>et</strong>s both personal and musical characters of this passionate performer.<br />

Born in 1986 in Nancy (France) into a musical environment, Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong> began piano lessons at the age of four with her pianist<br />

mother, and discovered at a very early age her vocation as a musician. The following year she chose the instrument which will become her<br />

voice, the violin. Under the guidance of Prof. Marthe Tercieux (descendant of the great Franco-Belgian violin school), Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong><br />

quickly earned all gold medals and miscellaneous awards in Nancy Conservatory. At the age of 14, she entered the prestigious<br />

"Conservatoire de Paris" (CNSMDP) to pursue her <strong>violon</strong> and chamber music studies with Prof. Gerard Poul<strong>et</strong>, Prof. Michael Hentz and Prof.<br />

Daria Hovora.<br />

After she was awarded the "Premier Prix" and B. De Beaufond Special Prize for <strong>violon</strong> and chamber music in 2005, Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong><br />

immediately joined the Violin-Concertist Postgraduate program ("cycle de perfectionnement") at the Paris Conservatory. After successful<br />

graduation, seeking to deepen her intimate understanding and practice of music, she m<strong>et</strong> Prof. Pavel Vernikov, with whom she studied from<br />

2007 to 2009 in Italy (Music School of Fiesole), and in Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität as "Extraordinary Student" during the 2010<br />

Summer Semester.<br />

A soloist whose virtuosity is always at the service of her interpr<strong>et</strong>ation of music, Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong> began her concert career at the age of<br />

16 with the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, playing with the Nancy Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Sebastian Lang-Lessing. She was<br />

acclaimed by the public, commended by the maestro and received rave reviews.<br />

In Paris, she then performed some of the main works of the concerto repertoire (Tchaikovsky op. 35, Brahms op. 77, Mendelssohn op. 64<br />

and Brahms Double Concerto) more than fifteen times during the 2003/2004 season, accompanied by the Orchestra created and conducted<br />

by Paul Kuentz; After the Paris debut came invitations from major french and international orchestras: Orchestre National du Capitole de<br />

Toulouse (Mozart Violin Concerto in G) in 2006, the Ukraine Honoured National Orchestra conducted by Volodymyr Sirenko (Sibelius Violin<br />

Concerto) in 2008, the Baden Sinfoni<strong>et</strong>ta in Austria (Be<strong>et</strong>hoven Violin Concerto) in 2009.<br />

Leading her life with passion as a musician and international performer, Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong> tirelessly pursues her quest of discovering and<br />

deepening her knowledge of music. She carves her art with the great violin masters: Ida Haendel, Ivry Gitlis, Maxim Vengerov, Julian<br />

Rachlin, Jean-Jacques Kantorrow, Salvatore Accardo, Zakhar Bron and Mauricio Fuks.<br />

A brilliant violinist with a communicative interpr<strong>et</strong>ation and a deep love for chamber music, Éléonore <strong>Darmon</strong> has been invited in many<br />

international festivals in France (Festival du Perigord Noir, Nuits Musicales en Armagnac, "Ensembles en Residence" à la Roque d'Antheron,<br />

Auditorium de la Cite de la Musique in Paris, La Grange de Meslay), Belgium (Rencontres Musicales d'Enghien, Printemps musical de Silly),<br />

Jordan (Classic Amman), Ukraine (Vladimir Horowitz Festival in Kiev) and in Israel (Eilat Chamber Music Festival). Her partners are the<br />

prestigious Frans Helmerson, Marco Rizzi, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Lawrence Power, Daria Hovora and Mischa Maisky.<br />
