Historique<br />
En 1969, Georges CARBASSE crée la Section Sport-Étu<strong>de</strong>s<br />
Lutte du Lycée <strong>de</strong> <strong>Font</strong>-<strong>Romeu</strong>. Il en aura la responsabilité<br />
jusqu'en 1989. A partir <strong>de</strong> 1988, Pierre PARENT encadre c<strong>et</strong>te<br />
section qui <strong>de</strong>vient Section Scolaire du Haut Niveau en 1993<br />
puis Pôle Espoir en 1995. 1997 voit la création <strong>de</strong> la Section<br />
Sportive Lutte. Fonctionnant conjointement avec le Pôle Espoir,<br />
elle est une étape supplémentaire d'accession aux filières<br />
d'entraînement <strong>de</strong> Haut Niveau. Depuis l'origine, presque 400<br />
lutteurs ont connus nos sections. Nombreux sont ceux qui ont<br />
continué leur carrière dans le milieu <strong>de</strong> la Lutte, soit comme<br />
international, soit comme professeur d’Éducation Physique<br />
<strong>et</strong> Sportive, soit comme cadre technique auprès <strong>de</strong> la FFL.<br />

L’établissement qui accueille les Sections LUTTE est<br />
le Lycée Climatique <strong>et</strong> Sportif Pierre <strong>de</strong> COUBERTIN à <strong>Font</strong>-<br />
<strong>Romeu</strong> dans les Pyrénées Orientales. Situé à 1850 m d’altitu<strong>de</strong><br />
dans le département le plus méridional <strong>de</strong> France, le site est<br />
réputé pour son climat très sain <strong>et</strong> son ensoleillement exceptionnel.<br />
Le lycée abrite également le Centre National d’Entraînement<br />
en Altitu<strong>de</strong> où viennent s’entraîner, durant toute l’année,<br />
<strong>de</strong> nombreuses équipes nationales <strong>et</strong> internationales.<br />
