Mounting instructions for the '123ignition'UKtype : 123\ROVER-8-R-Vfor : most Rover V8 - engines, 12 Volt, negative earth only !IMPORTANTPlease read the entire instructions before you begin installation. Remember to worksafely.STEP 1: Find the static timing pointOn the old distributor, note the position of the ignition wire to the number one cylinder. Remove thedistributor cap and turn the engine in its normal direction so that the rotor points to the number onecylinder position.Now carefully turn the engine further until the Top Dead Center ( TDC ) is indicated on the timingmark. The engine is now at the static timing point, at the end of the compression stroke for thenumber one cylinder. If you do know the engine firing order, this is an ideal time to trace the ignitionwires and make some notes.STEP 2: Out with the old, in with the newYou should verify that the correct advance curve for your engine has beenselected in your '123' : using a 5mm Allen wrench remove the hexagonal plug in
