How to activate Time Shift <strong>mode</strong>:<br />

To activate Time Shift <strong>mode</strong> for listening to<br />

previously received content you need to press<br />

the [TUNE] knob for 1.7 sec or longer. When<br />

the function is activated a beeping sound will<br />

be emitted.<br />

How to change Time Shift value:<br />

By turning the [TUNE] knob counterclockwise<br />

you can increase the Time Shift period up to<br />

the maximum Time Shift value. By turning<br />

clockwise you can decrease the Time Shift<br />

value. Time will shift per 10 seconds.<br />

While in Time Shift <strong>mode</strong>, the display indicates<br />

the selected Time Shift value. When the<br />

maximum Time Shift content is reached, a<br />

beeping sound will be emitted.<br />

How to exit Time Shift <strong>mode</strong>:<br />

Press [Tune] for more than 1.7 sec<br />

or<br />

fast forward to zero time value. After 6 sec the<br />

display will return to normal automatic<strong>all</strong>y; or<br />

you can press [DISP] to return manu<strong>all</strong>y.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The memory in Time Shift <strong>mode</strong> will be erased<br />

in the following cases:<br />

1) When the radio is switched off.<br />

2) When the ignition of the car is switched off.<br />

3) When another Service or channel is selected.<br />

Limitation in the use of the Time Shift<br />

Mode<br />

When AF function is switched ON and you<br />

enter a [NO SIGNAL] zone for more than<br />

5 sec., the AF function will start to search for<br />

alternative service stations automatic<strong>all</strong>y. At<br />

that time the memory in the Time Shift buffer<br />

will be erased.<br />

AF On/Off<br />

When the [AF] button is pressed while in <strong>DAB</strong><br />

<strong>mode</strong>, the Alternate Frequency function is<br />

switched on. When the [AF] button is pressed<br />

again, the Alternate Frequency function is<br />

switched off.<br />

The [AF] indicator lights up when AF is ON.<br />

When AF is activated, the receiver checks the<br />

signal condition of the current Ensemble that<br />

contains the actu<strong>all</strong>y listened to Service<br />

Station. If the signal deteriorates, the <strong>DAB</strong><br />

receiver will first check if the Service List<br />

contains the same Service Station with the<br />

same Service identifier in other Ensembles. If<br />

no alternatives are in the Service List, the <strong>DAB</strong><br />

receiver will check <strong>all</strong> <strong>DAB</strong> Ensembles for the<br />

desired Service. While scanning the <strong>DAB</strong><br />

Channels, [NO SIGNAL] will be displayed. If no<br />

alternative for the Service is found, the display<br />

will show [NO SERVICE] for 3 sec and the<br />

receiver will restart the search process.<br />

AF search operation can be aborted by<br />

pressing AF.<br />

Limitation in the use of the AF function<br />

While Time Shift Mode is active, the AF<br />

function will be switched off automatic<strong>all</strong>y.<br />

Bit Rate<br />

What is Bit Rate:<br />

Bit Rate is the same as Data Transfer Rate. It<br />

indicates the quantity of data that is<br />

transmitted from the Broadcaster to the<br />

Receiver for that specific Service. The Transfer<br />

Rate is measured in number of bits per second.<br />

How does it influence sound quality:<br />

In general, audio quality will increase when the<br />

bit rate is higher.<br />
