Part B: Reading Comprehension Read the following story and then answer the questions. 1 An African bird had ten beautiful, yellow and black eggs in her nest. One day a snake came into the nest and sat on her eggs. He said: "These are my eggs now. You can go away". So the bird had to leave her beautiful eggs. 5 She was very angry and asked the animals in the jungle to help her. "Lion, lion, can you help me? A snake is sitting on my eggs and I need someone to help me get him off". "No problem", said the lion. "I'm the king of the jungle and I can jump onto the snake and get him off in no time". 10 "No, no", said the bird. "You will break the eggs, I don't need your help, thank you". Then the bird tried again. "Elephant, Elephant, please help me. A snake is sitting on my eggs and I can't get him off". "That's no trouble", said the elephant. "I'm very strong and I can 15 step on the snake with my big feet". "Oh, no, what will happen to my eggs? No, thank you", shouted the bird. Other animals wanted to help, too.
