rejects during printing.“
From the idea to the finishing line...
... it was a long and sometimes strenuous path. The
more we are delighted about this award for “excellent
design quality” from the German Design Council.
We knew that printers don’t work perfect all the time,
guide rails and printer rolls get dusty and worn out
and by and by loose their grip. Our internal design and
development department in Oberlaindern decided to
take up the challenge to avoid the resulting, annoying
printer jams for our users and customers in the future.
Our idea: a grip varnish in form of a 3D pattern on the
backside of the label sheet. It took almost 2 years of
development until the perceptible surface varnish
and the design implementation was produced in serial
production.
Also the investment of millions into an ideal printing
machine shows our clear commitment to produce this
new idea together in serial production here at our site
in Oberlaindern.
For us, Ultragrip is much more than only a 3-dimensional
tyre pattern on the backside of a label sheet. The
design innovation with patent pending again emphasises
our leadership in technology in this segment and
is now also being appreciated by a „Special Mention
Award 2020 for Excellent Product Design“ in the category
„Stationery“.
