CONGRATULATIONS
ACCELERATE COLLEGE GRADUATES!
This spring, we celebrate our 4th annual cohort of Accelerate College
graduates. These 74 graduates from School District U-46, Community Unit
School District 300, Central School District 301, St. Charles Community
Unit School District 303, and Cambridge Lakes Charter School were
enrolled full-time at Elgin Community College while also enrolled in high
school. In addition to earning their high school diplomas, students will
earn an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree.
Accelerate College is a dual-credit program whereby high school-age
students enroll full-time at Elgin Community College and complete
college courses. Students fulfill requirements for a high school diploma
as well as an associate transfer degree simultaneously. The program is
unique in several ways:
• Accelerate College is one of just a few dual-credit
partnerships in Illinois where high school students earn
an associate degree upon graduation.
• Student support services are specifically designed to help
high school students transition to college.
• High school districts cover tuition providing significant
savings for participating students and their families.
