Abstract: <strong>Report</strong> on the Temporary Results of the Faunal Lists of Africa States based upon the
Databank of the Cesa I – Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire). Cesa Publ. on African Lepid. 3: 1-
83.
This faunal list of the Lepidoptera is based upon the information of Databank of the Cesa on the
World Lepidoptera. The temporary results are reported herewith for the first time. Totally 2683 valid
species and subspecies, living in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire), are mentioned.

Within the frame of the Cesa Project 2 , entitled Diversity of the Lepidoptera in the World
(DLW) and Lepidoptera of Africa (LAF) 3 , synonymous list of the species and subspecies, recorded in
Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire), has been arranged by the authors for this report, by using the
information of the Databank of the Cesa. The results are temporarily and reported herewith for the first
time. Totally 2683 valid species and subspecies are listed alphabetically under the related families.
Synonymous names are also added to each species in chronological order. Nomenclaturally
unavailable names marked with #.
