This is the third of a four-volume <strong>Gala</strong> collection<br />
of historic Wagner performances,<br />
combining excerpts from Götterdämmerung,<br />
Die Walküre and Siegfried, based around the<br />
famous recording of excerpts from Der Ring<br />
des Nibelungen between 1926 and 1932 and<br />
originally released on a hundred and twentytwo<br />
sides of 78 r.p.m. discs. Unlike modern,<br />
complete Ring cycles on disc, they featured a<br />
number of conductors and were recorded in<br />
three cities: mostly in Berlin and London but<br />
