1870. Mentre i tedeschi assediavano Parigi e
Vittorio Emanuele II° entrava a Roma sbuffando:
International è riconosciuta come facente parte
1870. While the Germans where surrounding
Paris and Victor Emmanuel II was entering
Rome, there was somebody taking care of
much more serious things: Henri Schliemann
began to dig the hill that was hiding Troy, J.D.
Rockfeller was establishing Standard Oil and,
modestly, Mr. Benvenuto Acerbis was opening
his joiner's shop. He used to make solid,
traditional, large pieces of furniture that would
last more than a lifetime: in short, he started
up a good artisan workshop with many good
clients thanks to the quality of his job.
As it does not always happen, the sons of sons
followed his footsteps for three generations.
Still remaining tied up with the very high
tradition of quality, they turned the family
workshop into a modern industry of design
furniture. Two centuries have not passed in
vane: Acerbis International is today renown as
one of the few Italian firms which, from the
Sixties on, have contributed to the birth and
diffusion of the Italian design in the world.
