Important<br />

Plug your appliance into an alternating current outlet only and<br />

make sure that your household voltage corresponds to the<br />

voltage printed on the appliance.<br />

This appliance must never be used near water<br />

(e.g. a filled wash basin, bathtub or shower).<br />

Do not allow the appliance to get wet. Always unplug<br />

after use. Even when switched off the appliance presents a<br />

hazard when near water.<br />

Using the hot appliance on wet hair may cause hair damage.<br />

Always dry your hair completely and evenly before using the<br />

appliance. Do not use the appliance on permed hair.<br />

Do not touch the hot styling plates (6) nor the active forming<br />

area (5) of the appliance. When hot, do not place on surfaces<br />

that are not heat-resistant.<br />

For additional protection, it is advisable to install a residual<br />

current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current<br />

not exceeding 30 mA in the electrical circuit of your bathroom.<br />

Ask your installer for advice.<br />

Children as of 8 years and persons with reduced physical,<br />

sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or<br />

knowledge can use this appliance provided they have been<br />

given supervision and instructions on its safe use and understand<br />

the hazards involved. Children must not play with the<br />

appliance. Children must not carry out cleaning and user<br />

maintenance unless they are supervised.<br />

Do not wrap the mains cord around the appliance. Do not<br />

bend the anti-kink sleeve excessively during use or storage.<br />

Regularly check the mains cord for wear or damage. If the<br />

cord is damaged, stop using the appliance and take it to an<br />

authorized <strong>Braun</strong> Service Centre. Unqualified repair work can<br />

lead to extreme hazards for the user.<br />

If the screen shows , unplug the appliance and have it<br />

repaired at a <strong>Braun</strong> Service Centre.<br />

Using the control pad<br />

Connect the appliance to an electrical outlet. To switch on,<br />

push the center button for at least 2 seconds. To move the<br />

cursor on the screen, push the respective arrow.<br />

To confirm your selection, press the center button .<br />

To return to the previous screen, press t .<br />

In order to prevent an unintended change of settings, the<br />

control pad is provided with an automatic lock feature. When<br />

the control pad is locked and you try to press any button, the<br />

symbol appears on the screen. To unlock the control pad,<br />

press the center button for at least 1 second.<br />

Before first use<br />

Select your language and the operation mode:<br />

Using the q p arrows, select your language and confirm.<br />

Select ü and confirm.<br />
