Q. I was seen by a provider in the 42 MDG. Why aren’t my<br />
medications filled ahead of me checking in?<br />
A. Due to patient safety, we require that every patient seen by a<br />
42 MDG provider check in with a pharmacy technician<br />
following an appointment or phone consult. This step is to<br />
ensure our patients are receiving the correct medication and<br />
dosing along with verifying patient allergies.<br />
Q. Why are patients not able to pick up their refilled<br />
prescriptions at the drive thru at Maxwell Clinic?<br />
A. This is a security and safety issue for the <strong>base</strong>. If the<br />
pharmacy allowed refill pickups at the window, traffic flow on<br />
the adjacent road would be backed up and make traveling<br />
down this road very dangerous. We must ensure this road<br />
remains clear for emergency response teams. (However, the<br />
pharmacy does extend this service to our disabled patrons<br />
because we understand that walking from the parking lot may<br />
be difficult.)<br />
