REACHING NEW HEIGHTS IN

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS IN JAKARTA The Langham opens its first outpost in Southeast Asia A cloud of fluttering butterflies greets you when you step inside The Langham, Jakarta’s Sky Lobby, which floats 62 storeys above the ground. The 3,000 crystal butterflies, suspended from delicate wires, are part of an installation that sets the tone for The Langham, Jakarta – a place that lifts you above the humdrum of the everyday. Set in the District 8 complex in the Sudirman Central Business District, The Langham, Jakarta embodies understated urban luxury with its calm neutral interiors, its marble bathrooms, its works by local artists and its floorto-ceiling windows. The Langham Club level offers dedicated butlers and complimentary food and beverages, while for the ultimate indulgence, the 330 square metre Presidential Suite has its own terrace and an in-suite gym, with a private trainer available on call. The food is as enticing as the rooms. The hotel’s restaurants include Tom’s by Tom Aikens, where diners can enjoy the best of western with a touch of British cuisine while seated on salmon-coloured banquettes. Just as inviting is the French flair of ALICE, where you can enjoy The Langham’s famous afternoon tea. (Worth knowing: the bar at ALICE specialises in French champagne and also offers the largest selection of gins in town.) And opening soon is T’ang Court, the local outpost of the three-Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant at The Langham, Hong Kong. langhamhotels.com
