|On Board| M/Y Norn, Lürssen In April, the 90-metre M/Y Norn, previously known as Project 1601, left Lürssen’s North German shipyard for her maiden voyage to Norway. The vessel, which has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, was launched in February at its Rendsburg facilities, after construction had started in 2018 for a repeat client. His first yacht with Lürssen was M/Y Skat, a 70.7m vessel delivered in 2002, which had a bold, military look. It was one of the first larger yacht projects for Espen Øino, who returns to create the exterior lines for Norn. The renowned Norwegian designer, now based in Monaco, has produced a striking look, dominated by flat surfaces, straight lines and angular corners. There is clear nod to Skat, in the design but also some obvious differences – the hull is edgy, but there is no military connotation here, and the martial grey colour is swapped for a lighter grey and white. The toned-down crispness of the overall design is more pleasure yachting than military. The interior is the work of Hamburg-based firm Dölker + Voges and echoes the same themes as the exterior – clean, contemporary and state of the art. The reverse bow and the futuristic “Wintergarden” glazing on the upper deck are standout features, while there is also an outside cinema, and a pool with a bottom that can be raised and lit up like a dance floor. And then there are Norn’s technological advances, including superb engineering systems, zero-speed stabilizers and a dynamic positioning system, which enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring in shallow waters. An all-round triumph. lurssen.com PHOTOS PHOTO CXXXXXXXXX CHARL VAN ROOY 58 CENTURION-MAGAZINE.COM

Seven Seas is an extraordinary collaboration M/Y Seven Seas, Oceanco M/Y O’Eva, Golden Yachts An extraordinary collaboration between Dutch firm Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and LA-based Molly Isaksen Interiors has produced this 109m masterpiece. An exquisite use of natural materials and glass onboard and a beam of 16m bring lots of natural light inside and provide grand views while cruising. Lateral Naval Architects is responsible for an extensive optimisation process, resulting in outstanding top speed of up to 20 knots and great seakeeping ability. oceancoyacht.com Originally launched in 2009 in France, O’Eva underwent a major refit in Greece at Golden Yachts recently. The six-month project included interior and exterior changes on the 60m yacht, with the hull colour switching from navy blue to white and grey. Her interior has been restyled by Italian studio Massari and Greek designer Dimitra Agapitou, who both co-operated on the 88m Golden Yacht flagship Project X, which was introduced last year during the Monaco Yacht Show. O’Eva accommodates up to 12 guests in seven cabins, with another flexible cabin that also works as a gym, and is available for charter. atalantagoldenyachts.com PHOTOS FROM TOP: STUDIO RESKOS, © OCEANCO, © AB YACHTS∞ © ABEKING & RASMUSSEN, © ROSSINAVI M/Y Akula, Rossinavi June saw the launch of the first expedition yacht from the Pisa facilities of Viareggio-based Rossinavi, and Federico Rossi, the firm’s COO, has spoken of how important the launch of the 59.4m vessel is for the growing brand. The ice-class yacht was penned by Gian Paolo Nari, with interior design by Anconabased studio FM Architettura. The outcome? A luxury expedition yacht for an owner who was actively involved in the development. rossinavi.it AB 100, Next Group One of the latest sportfly models from Italian brand AB surprises with a striking bold red hull. The Viareggio-based yard is known for the breathtaking speeds its yachts can reach, exceeding 50 knots. In fact, the AB 100 gets up to precisely 59 knots, a considerable high. And this can be reached in full comfort and style onboard the 30.5m hull number 196, without compromising on safety. Ten guests in four cabins enjoy pure adrenaline when underway. abyachts.com Hull No 6507 (Project Celerius), Abeking & Rasmussen As inch by inch, the black beauty came out of the sheds at the German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder, it became apparent just how long she was – at 118 metres, she is the largest yacht built at the yard to date. Joseph Dirand Architecture in Paris is responsible for the exterior and interior design, and has added some great features, such as the Neptune lounge on the starboard side and no anchor pockets to interrupt the elegant black silhouette of the hull. Instead, underwater anchors are on the keel of the yacht. abeking.com CENTURION-MAGAZINE.COM 59
