Avril Groom takes a closer look ooking at the dazzling melange of gems that make up Boodles’ new 50-piece high-jewellery collection, A Family Journey, is delightful but confusing. Each is named after a different European hot spot for reasons not always obvious – until you know. The family jeweller – founded in Liverpool and now a Bond Street stalwart – goes back two-and-aquarter centuries, so it can draw from plenty of heritage inspiration. But this collection has roots in a relatively recent period. The title is a clue, but doesn’t tell the whole story.
