On the Water Trendsetters A New Direction Axopar has brought in motoring expertise to upgrade its bestselling range. By Cornelia Marioglou T he high-flying Finnish brand Axopar has sold more than 2,200 of its outboardpowered sports weekenders and cabin boats in less than five years – led by its groundbreaking Axopar 37 range, which now incorporates the Sun-Top, Spyder and XC Cross Cabin. At Boot, 1 Dusseldorf, in January, it upped the ante by announcing its latest collaboration with Brabus, the German automotive tuning firm that frequently modifies vehicles from Mercedes and Maybach and now lends it expertise to the marine world. Based on the existing 37 hull, the Brabus Shadow 900 (pictured) amplifies both the performance and style of the original, with everything from the engine to the interiors ramped up.
