NEWS Fast-growing

NEWS Fast-growing Chinese consumer electronics firm TCL used IFA 2016 to unveil its X1 QUHD television range to dealers and the media. Combining cutting edge Quantum dot technology, JBL Harman powered speakers and sleek contemporary design, the X1 represents “affordable, premium technology for our core target market of young families,” said Ranjit Gopi, Marketing Director, Head of Overseas Marketing. According to Ranjit Gopi, TCL’s rapid growth across a range of product sectors is based on three pillars: “Investment in technology, investment in brand and investment in innovation. The enhanced viewing experience exhibited by the X1 shows why TCL is the brand of the future. We benefit from being a vertically-integrated company, the only one in China, one of the few in the world.” TCL’s group slogan: "The Creative Life" embodies the company’s aim to be one of the most innovative consumer electronics companies in the world. However TCL’s emphasis on technology, brand and innovation is based on a solid industrial foundation, added Marketing Director Europe, Antoine Salome: “We are worldwide leaders with the manufacturing capacity to deliver on our promise.” Crucial to the X1’s positioning is state-of-the-art design, which is Nordic with a touch of the Orient, said Flemming Pedersen, Vice President of TCL Multimedia and general manager of its Innovation Centre. “The 360 degree curved design is simple, clean with honest materials and no unnecessary detail. The Nordic element gives us a sense of innovation while the Oriental element is about refined, decorative style.” The X1 is as slim as it was possible to be without affecting the picture quality. Meanwhile, the 3-way speaker system from JBL Harman completes the ultimate entertainment experience. Further details of the technology were provided by European Product director Marek Maciejewski, who is in charge of product development in Europe. Aside from the Quantum Dot technology, he emphasised the importance of HDR in bringing superrealistic images to the new X1 range. An Android TV, the system fully supports services such as Google Play, Voice search and Google Cast. It will retail at €3999. Alongside the flagship X1, which will be called the TCL Aspires to be the Brand of the Future X1 TV range is “affordable, premium technology” S9900 in Europe, TCL also introduced the Cityline (S79) Series. The S79 has an ultraslim design (thickness of only 9.9 mm) and incorporates the edge technology found in the UHD family to provide an exceptional viewer experience, including Wide Colour Gamut technology to deliver an impressive 85% of DCI-P3 colour space and more vivid colours. The S79 Series is also equipped with a special Football mode for an optimal viewing experience during a broadcast match.
