News FROM DREAM SCIENCE TO HOME CONTROL – OREGON SCIENTIFIC UNVEILS A SWATHE OF SMART NEW PRODUCTS AT IFA Oregon Scientific has announced a brand new range of connected products under its “Smart Living” tagline. Products have been announced in the fitness and health domain with a new smarttalking blood pressure monitor; in the time and weather category with a new Grill Right Cooking thermometer that connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth to alert the user when their meat is perfectly cooked. In the wellness domain a new DreamScience alarm clock is a brainwaveoriented sleep companion, which, in addition to having a wide variety of relaxing sounds, is able to affect the user’s brain by emitting non-audible DreamScience Brainwave-oriented Sleep Companion WS683 waves that can help one sleep, meditate and even concentrate. With a wide range of sensors, Oregon Scientific’s next steps will include developing a hub that connects all sensorequipped electronics in the home together, allowing them to interact with each other to make the user’s lifestyle easier to analyse. Hall 6.2 Stand 108 Growth to Give Grundig Reach Among Europe’s largest home electronics manufacturers, Grundig’s persistent recent growth has inspired the launch of 150 new products at IFA. “We are continuously investing in new technologies, product development, our brand, and the expansion of our network of retailers,” said Grundig CEO Murat ŞSahin at Grundig’s IFA press conference. Sahin confirmed that Grundig is growing beyond the market average - 27% annual growth since 2009 - with TV sales also rising by 27% in the first half of 2014 alone. Among the TV innovations being premiered at IFA is the new Vision 8 UHD-Series, filled with powerful technologies and interactive features in 48- and 55-inches. Grundig product range Better distribution, innovation and enlargement of the product portfolio have been key to Grundig’s success. With 60% of its business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Grundig is using IFA to expand globally.
