JUNE 2020 EDITION NEWS FROM MHCE I WWW.MHCE.US MHCE News In A Time of Heroes Within our busy world it is easy to forget our military veterans because once they serve our country, we tend to forget about them. As a society we must do our best to help all of our heroes resume their lives. When our veterans return home many of them have physical issues that need tending. Unfortunately, drugs and surgeries are the first line of defense. Addictions, depression, homelessness and suicide soon follow. It’s an ethical and moral responsibility for all of us to “do the right thing” for our veterans, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel that will help to address this. The source of this light is the chiropractic community. By nature, chiropractic doctors are compassionate people who believe in utilizing the least invasive therapies before turning to drugs and surgeries. While there are decades of studies that scientifically prove that chiropractic care is tremendously successful with neuro-musculoskeletal disorders it is still not on the priority list for treating these conditions. The trauma that begins for those who serve in the military starts on day one of basic training. The constant strain on their necks, shoulders, wrists, back, hips, legs, knees and feet are compounded over the years of service – on and off the battlefield. The movie “Backbone” has just started production and has already captured proof positive evidence that chiropractors are “literally” saving the lives of veterans all across the country. The film will shine a light on the chiropractic profession through an open and honest lens. There is one thing on which we can all agree: veterans who have been trained to care more about their brothers and sisters than themselves are 100% honest in their opinions regarding the well-being of their peers. In other words, if a wounded hero testifies that a specific treatment made them healthier and stronger, than you can take that to the bank Trust is earned in the military. If our veterans report that chiropractors deserve to be taken seriously then we should all pay attention.
