2. Safety instructions 2.1 Basic safety instructions The safety officer in charge of the device must ensure that: // Only qualified personnel are assigned to work on the machine. Specifications according to the work to be performed (operating mode) are summarized in chapter 2.4. // The necessary staff training, including refreshment courses, is provided. // These staff members always have access to the operating manual and any other safety-relevant product documentation regardless of the work they’re doing, and take these documents into account at all times. // Staff follows the accident prevention rules and regulations in force at the location as well as maintenance and calibration cycles. // The applicable regulations on (work-) safety and health, accident prevention and environmental protection are observed. // Hazards resulting from conditions in the workplace environment need to be evaluated, with an operating manual prepared accordingly and observed. It is solely the responsibility of the device user or person in charge of the device to fulfil any legal requirements outlined in the aforementioned operating manual. // Do not subject the device to impacts, shocks or vibrations. // Do not exceed the permitted maximum force value (< 100 kN). The device may only be used as intended and only if it is in good working order and safe to use. 2.2 Proper use of the device The purpose of this device is to measure the retraction force (also known as pulling force and clamping force) of clamping fixtures. Featuring a basic unit and an interface-specific adapter, this handheld device allows you to manually measure the retraction force of the clamping fixture. The adapter can be replaced and the entire system inserted into and removed from the clamping fixture by hand. A detailed description of device functions is available in Chapter 5. The device may be used only in the applications specified in Chapter 2.4 and only in conjunction with REGO-FIX AG adapters and software. Only original accessories and spare parts can ensure proper device function. The device is designed to measure retraction force. Any other forms of application are improper and will result in the termination of all liability and warranty claims on the manufacturer. Safe, seamless operation requires proper transport, qualified use and correct maintenance. In accordance with the guidelines outlined in Chapter 2.3, device operation is subject to application-specific requirements and operating staff qualifications. Children are not permitted to operate the device, regardless of the application. In accordance with Chapter 2.3, training staff may only work with the system under the supervision of qualitied staff. Relevant accident prevention regulations and any other generally recognised occupational health and safety rules must be observed. The product may not be used in explosive or flammable environments. The device is designed for use in closed, dry rooms (maximum relative humidity of 95%) at temperatures between 5 °C and 45 °C. 2.3 Requirements for device users Below is a list of requirements for device users based on application. // Transport: Transport staff need to be well acquainted with the applicable requirements (e.g. due diligence, safety) or have been informed accordingly by the customer. // Start-up: Operating staff (see ‘Operation’) are permitted to start up the device. // Operation (primary operation): The term ‘standard operation’ refers to the work steps carried out by operating staff. / / Troubleshooting: Any troubleshooting steps not included in standard operation must be completed by a qualified REGO-FIX AG specialist or a third person appointed by the REGO-FIX AG company. 6 Operating manual REGO-FIX ForceMaster (FMA)
