Growth Spurt Making Our Mark Campus visibility Texas Woman’s continues to find new ways to earn distinction. One of our areas of focus is to embrace opportunities that improve the quality of life for veterans and their families. In 2022, we achieved special status for our efforts with a Military Friendly® school Gold award. This is the 13th year TWU has earned Military-Friendly status, but the first at this level of recognition. Building on the unexpected Denton campus visitors can spy creative use of a tree stump: a carving of a Texas barn owl on which Oakley, TWU’s mascot, is based.
ARCHITECTURAL LANDMARK AWARD TEXAS SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTS The Little Chapel-in-the-Woods This iconic chapel added to its list of accolades when it was recognized by the Texas Society of Architects during the organization’s 2021 conference. The group honored the chapel with the coveted Architectural Landmark Award.
