Expanding Promise Making College Education Accessible Preparing students for success Even as the pandemic created uncertainty among prospective students, Texas Woman’s ramped up its efforts to make college more accessible and affordable. The university expanded partnerships aimed at enrolling more students from underserved rural and urban areas, distributed more scholarship money than ever before, launched initiatives that provide more resources and support to students, and created programs to help soon-to-be graduates gain career-focused internships to boost their job prospects. CARES funding The U.S. Department of Education awarded Texas Woman’s more than million in emergency grants, which were distributed to 13,800 students who were financially impacted by the pandemic. Minority enrollment gains continue Texas Woman’s enrolled its most diverse student body ever in fall 2021 and posted its second-highest student count – a testament to the university’s appeal to students of all backgrounds. 16,326 fall enrollment 65% Minority Enrollment GEER funding The state awarded Texas Woman’s 5,000 in 2022 to increase internship and apprenticeship opportunities that strengthen the education-to-workforce pipeline, boosting students’ career aspirations.

Promise partnerships Texas Woman’s forged new partnerships with rural school districts which promise to fund scholarships that supplement financial aid to cover the cost of tuition and fees for students. It’s an effort to increase access to college for students in rural settings. Young Dallas Tarrant Cooke Montague GreenLight partnership Texas Woman’s won an American Council on Education grant to launch a project that gives students ownership of their academic records, which they can share with other universities and employers.
