NIRM works to -<br />
1. Excel as an R&D organisation by providing high quality, need based,<br />
value added services in the emerging areas <strong>of</strong> rock mechanics and rock<br />
engineering for surface and underground excavations.<br />
2. Develop innovative technologies and retain them through intellectual<br />
property rights.<br />
3. Disseminate the knowledge and expertise through publication <strong>of</strong><br />
papers in national and international journals and seminars.<br />
4. Facilitate skill enhancement through training and workshops.<br />
5. Conduct training courses and workshops for pr<strong>of</strong>essionals, and provide<br />
research facilities for higher education in the areas <strong>of</strong> rock mechanics and<br />
