Krenning has participated in the educational responsibilities
at the Erasmus MC, lecturing in Internal Medicine, Nuclear
Medicine and Endocrinology throughout his career. He has
been involved in research since 1975. His main interests include
thyroidology and radioactive labelled peptides with their introduction
into peptide receptor imaging and therapy.
Krenning has been the (co)author of more than 350 peer-reviewed
articles since 1975, more than 150 chapters and proceedings, and
more than 400 abstracts in the field of thyroidology and peptide
receptor scintigraphy and radionuclide therapy. In these fields
he also received awards and invitations to give honourable
lectures.
Prof.Dr. A.A. Lammertsma
Afd. Nucleaire Geneeskunde
& PET Research
VU Medisch Centrum
Amsterdam
Prof.Dr. Adriaan Lammertsma is, samen
met Prof.Dr. Otto Hoekstra, hoofd van de
afdeling Nucleaire Geneeskunde & PET
diverse toepassingen (neurologie, psychiatrie, oncologie, cardiologie
Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism en International
Associate Editor van Molecular Imaging and Biology. Tevens
Prof.Dr. L. Mortelmans
Division of Nuclear Medicine
University Hospital Gasthuisberg
Leuven, Belgium
Prof.Dr. Luc Mortelmans studied electrical
engineering at the KU Leuven (1969).
Afterwards he obtained an MD degree
(1975) and specialised in internal medicine
cardiology (1980) and nuclear medicine (1982). He obtained a
PhD degree in medical sciences with a thesis about scintigraphic
29(3)
evaluation of infarct size. Nowadays he is head of the nuclear
medicine department and full professor of nuclear medicine at
the KU Leuven.
He was the founder of the PET centre at the KU Leuven in 1989
equiped nowadays with two PET cameras (one PET CT), one in
house cyclotron and an animal PET system (2004). Together with
his group consisting of an experienced medical staff, a highly
skilled radiopharmacy lab and a high level medical imaging
group a lot of experience was obtained in clinical PET, development
of new SPECT and PET tracers and the introduction of new
techniques for reconstruction and image fusion. This research
was supported by several university, national and international
grants.
Prof. Mortelmans is chairman of the small animal imaging
lab (MOSAIC) provided with micro PET, SPECT, NMR, CT,
ultrasound and optical imaging. In this context he stimulates
translational research linking basic research with clinical applications.
Together with the department of Radiology, Medical
Imaging and Radiopharmacy, a center for drug development
was created for the preclinical and clinical testing of new drugs
in cooperation with several pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical
companies (MIRACLE: Molecular Imaging Research
and Application Center Leuven).
Prof. Mortelmans is passed president of the Belgian Society of
Nuclear Medicine, vice president of the medical counsil of the
university hospital Gasthuisberg (1800 beds) and co-editor of
the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and the European
Journal of Cardiology.
Prof.Dr. W.J.G. Oyen
Afd. Nucleaire Geneeskunde
UMC St. Radboud
Nijmegen
Prof.Dr. Wim J.G. Oyen studeerde
Geneeskunde in Nijmegen. Hij werd opgeleid
tot nucleair geneeskundige en promoveerde
in 1992 op een onderzoek getiteld:
“Detection of infection and inflammation with indium-111
labeled human nonspecific immunoglobulin G”.
in “peer-reviewed” internationale tijdschriften.
St. Radboud. Mede onder zijn leiding voltooiden 14 promovendi
hun proefschrift.
eigen Cyclotron faciliteit in gebruik genomen.
