LTC Startbaan Infoboekje 2013 Summary in English The following is a brief summary of relevant clubinformation for non-Dutch-speaking members. Also, we highlight some club activities you might beinterested in, and which you are most welcome to participate in. We hope you will enjoy playing tennis with us and will soonfeelpart of the club. General information LTC Startbaan has one indoor court at its disposal,twelve outdoor clay courts and one outdoor clay mini-court.(The remaining 4 indour courts are managed by “Stiching Sportbedrijf Amstelveen”) Opening time: indoor from 8.00 a.m. until midnight on weekdays; outdoor from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. All outdoor courts have artificial lighting. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the park closes at 9 p.m. On May 4 (Memorial Day) it closes at 6 p.m. Club activities Besides several club tournaments throughout the season, we have toss mornings and –evenings on several weekdays.You can come to the club to play and the “clubmember in charge” will assign you to three other players for a 45 -minute turn of play. How many times you can play will depend on the number of players present. The club toss is highly recommended if you wish to get acquainted with other club members! The toss schedule: Mondaymorning Court 1 t/m 4 Men 50+ 09.30 – 12.00 starting april Mondayevening Court 1 t/m 4 Seniormembers 18.15 – 22.00 starting april Tuesdayevening Court 1 t/m 6 Seniormembers 18.15 – 22.00 starting april Wednesdaymorning Court 1 t/m 6 Women 09.00 – 11.30 starting april Fridaymorning Court 1 t/m 4 Men/Women 50+ 09.30 – 12.00 starting june Junior Members LTC Startbaan has a team available of 4 professional tennis trainers. They take care of the training for the junior members. The training (1 hour a week) is mandatory for junior members in de age of 6 through 14. Experience and age are taken into consideration when assingning the groups. Lessons are scheduled on weekdays in the afternoon. Extra facilities are reserved for junior members with good potential to strengthen their tennis capacities. Besides the tennis lessons, the club organizes various activities, such as tournaments, „instuif‟ on Wednesday afternoon, club championships, etc. LTC Startbaan has about 18 junior teams in all age categories, participating in both regional and national competitions. Training during the winter season is not included in the membership fee. Applications can be made separately. As a pre-introduction to the game of tennis, children up to the age of about 8 can participate in a preliminary tennis training course during the winter and/or the summer season (membership is not obliged). Membership (payment/cancellation) There are honorary, senior, junior, student and donator memberships: for information we refer to the Membership administration or the secretary of our club.
