Voor aluminium wordt als globale regel voorlengteverandering aangehouden: bij een montagetemperatuur van 20 0 C ± 1mmruimte per meter (-20 0 C < t < 60 0 C).Ook kleur is bepalend voor mate van opwarming en dus lengteverandering. Donkerekleuren bereiken hogere waarden en dus meer lengteverandering.
