FEATURESbbc introducingoxfordwithshow producer liz greenThere has been a feast offabulous new music sentto us this month giving usthe chance to do what welike to do best here atIntroducing – play artistsfor the very first time. That’s exactly whathappened toSummertown-basedbedroom producer TheoBass. We loved his lo-fipost rock dance trackTwisce and we’re lookingforward to playing somemore of his music on theshow. Another highlightwas Limbo Kids’ offering,Heartshots – a superblycatchy pop track thatyou can’t help but singalong to.It was lovely to havesinger songstress Jess Hallin the studio earlier thismonth. She told us allabout her excitingEuropean tour and howa move to Oxfordkickstarted her love of song writing. I also caught upwith Richard Walters after his packed out album launchat St Alban’s – the atmospheric East Oxford Churchwas an apt venue to showcase some of his mournful, yet beautiful tunes which are taken from his newrelease Regret Less.Introducing also got involved in Radio Oxfordcelebrations for Beatles Day – commemorating the 50thanniversary of the Beatles’ first single Love Me Do byasking some of best local bands to record their versionsof the Beatles’ greatest tracks. The Dreaming Spires,Bug Prentice, Toliesel, Fixers and Greg Stuart from WeAeronauts managed to do justice to the Fab Four’sTHE DREAMING SPIRESlegacy, creating some fantastic covers. If you missed thistreat, fear not – we will hopefully be releasing the trackson iTunes to raise money for Children in Need at theend of this month.
