Eu escrevi, além disso, um ritual sobre princípios inteiramente novos. Eu mantive os nomes e fórmulas cabalísticos, mas escrevi a maior parte da invocação em poesia. A ideia era estimular o entusiasmo mágico através da euforia induzida pela música. Eu obtive uma grande quantidade de conhecimento valioso do espírito, mas o item mais interessante foi este: Marston, lembrando-se de seu dever oficial, perguntou: ―Nação se erguerá contra nação?‖, seguida de perguntas mais detalhadas ao receber uma resposta afirmativa. Soubemos assim que em cinco anos a partir daquela data haveriam duas guerras; o olho do furacão da primeira seria a Turquia, e da segunda seria a Alemanha, e o resultado seriam a destruição destas duas nações. Eu só me lembrei disso após chegar em Nova Iorque no final de 1914. Por sorte eu tinha o ritual com a questão e a resposta escritas na época, e um relato destas predições, representado precisamente, apareceu no New York World 5. 2 [G. M.
