g§nmXH$s` … WE SALUTE ANNAJI HAZARE S>m°. M§ÐeoIa ZmJZmW ~maJOo
Annaji Hazare, hitherto on unnoticed social activist
from Maharashtra, bcame the center of attraction for the
masses of India. He inspeired a unparalleled movement
to have a lokpal to eliminate the corruption. The menace
of corruption is spread in every walk of life beginning
from birth place and ending into cemetery. The people
were walk of life beginning from birth place and ending
into cemetery. The people were initially getting forced
to become part of it and as a result the monster of
curruption had slowly become part of routine. It was
beyond imagination or dream for the common man that
the corruption wsill go away from India.
The corruption had made the life of middle and
lower class people miserable and pitiable. But people at
large were divided among political colours and among
the evils of language, state, caste, religion so on and
so forth. The arose this self-less Gandhian with the
strength of celibacy, non-political orientation, and strong
commitment to the cause, conviction of purpose and
crystal clear vision of the future. He holds the aura of
over four decades of social activism in his village and
in the state of Maharashtra. He had fought against
corruption at state government level in Maharashtra and
won quite a few battles. He organized a movement of
the century with an objective to eradicate corruption from
the country. His crusade against the meance aroused
tremendous support from entire country. People of all
age groups. religions, castes, political affiliations and
mainly those who were totally detached from politics,
came out in the support of the movement form all
states. Men, women, youth, children joined the cause.
Hundreds of thousands joined the ''fast'' wholeheartedly.
Some joined at Ramleela Maidan, others at their
villages/towns/cities. There were innumerous protest
marches throughout the youth was the force. They
sung patriotic songs, Gandhian Bhajans, and shouted
slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram.
Anna Hazare inculcated patriotism, nonviolence, and
commitment to society smong the masses. The best
part of the movement was that it was totally non-violent
and devoid of any political leanings.
On August 25, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh
expressed his feelings about Annaji in these words : ''
I respect his idealism. I respect him as an iindividual. I
applaud him. I salute Himn''. On August 27, the Indian
Parliament passed a '' Sense of the House'' resolution
on Lokpal Bill. The people who gathered at Ramleela
and across the length and breadth of the country
emerged victorious.
We, at shri Jiveshwar Pratishthan, join
wholeheartedly with Mr. Singh to salute Mr.
Annaji Hazare, the great mass leader of the
entire Indian civil society in this century.
You can also become Anna
Anna Haare became a role model for the young and
old alike. The people were wearing white caps marked
with words meaning ''Iam Anna''. After breaking his fast,
Annaji told the masses that only wearing such caps will
not make them Anna.
He said, if you want to become Anna, you have to
keep certain things in mind. He gave a five point charter.
There should be no difference in what you say and what
you do. You should possess clean and honest thoughts.
You should have a clean conduct and clean character.
You should have a feeling for sacrifice. You should have
strength to take humiliation. We know that many people
crave to become top leaders in social and political
organizations. But would they pass the test on these
five points? Anna is respected by millions because he
could succeed on these five points. The modern day civil
socity needs many more Annas. Every one of us can
attempt and become popular like Anna. Shri Jiveshwar
Pratishthan wishes success to our readers in such
attempts
Jai Jiveshwar.
