LIXO EXTRAORDINÁRIO
Lixo Extraordinário is a film that shows the status of art and the
issue of garbage in contemporary society, the hard work of
collectors and the possibility of transformation that the change
in artistic perception can provide. He started with simple works
and achieved success with his artistic works.
This film shows a new look at garbage, it turns garbage into art,
especially recyclable, it's amazing the perception they have
about the transformation of art.
The film tells how nowadays we can recycle and not
accumulate so many things to help the environment and the
animals in the seas, 8 people collectors and garbage collectors
are called to participate in the film people who don't had
opportunities in life to get a good I work a good house but
even with this job they are able to be great people and get what
they want with work n very good for them but they help them
to be who they are and to have something to eat within their
own homes.
We see that the opinion of the painter and artist changes
completely after meeting and living with the collectors and with
this coexistence, photos are taken with the garbage they
recycle, the works were sold and shown to people that being a
garbage collectors is just a Dirty work is a job that if you go
after it like any other job you get what you want.
The film shows the difficult lives of people who literally live in
garbage and who depend on it for survival. The artist, who was
born in the lower middle class of São Paulo and today is one of
the greatest exponents of the visual arts in the world, works
with collages and montages of various materials to form
portraits. In the Extraordinary Waste proposal, Vik decided to
simultaneously draw attention to environmental problems of
the garbage and social conditions of the working conditions of
the collectors of Gramacho. As a way of giving voice and
visibility to garbage workers, he portrayed them as characters
with giant assemblies made of waste from the landfill itself. The
results are amazing!
