Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the fruits of all your crops”
[Proverbs 3:9]
Dearly beloved in Christ,
It gives me immense pleasure to greet you through the Harvest Festival souvenir
2016 of St.Mary’sJacobite Syrian Church, Kuwait. A harvest festival is an annual
celebration and that occurs around the time of the main harvest of a given region. It’s
a time of thanksgiving. People offer a part of their produce to God as a symbol of
thanks giving during the harvest season. Today we celebrate ‘The Harvest Festival
2016’ by offering a part of what we reaped in the last year went by.
As Proverbs 3:9 says let’s honor our Lord with our wealth by sharing it with the
needy. Let’s love our God by organizing our life according to His will. Let us continue
to praise and thank God and offer more of ourselves to Him.
We must be very thankful to the Amir, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and other
Ministers of this Nation for granting us freedom for religious worship. On behalf of our
Parish, I express our sincere thanks to National Evangelical Church, Kuwait, St.Paul’s
Anglican church, Ahmadiand Greek Orthodox Church, Salwa for providing their
facilities for our worship.
I take this opportunity to appreciate all our parish members and well-wishers who
have generously contributed and participated to make this year’s festival a memorable
one. My heartfelt thanks to all our office bearers, committee members, spiritual
organizations, conveners and all the members of different committees who have sacrificially
worked behind the curtain. On behalf of the Parish, I also thank all the sponsors
of the souvenir.
Let us be with Christ for the transformation of the World.
