Wednesday morning, Marianne, Roger and I
went trailerspotting in exotic Northern Norway, or,
to be more precise, Skibotndalen. Here, at the
Norwegian-Finnish border, the Norwegian Public
Roads Administration (NPRA) were testing
different components meant for use in intelligent
transport systems.
While initial reports
had led us to believe
that the NPRA were
trying out automation
of freight trucks, what
we met was somewhat
less spectacular: A
room of approx. 8
square meters,
crowded with people
and containing lots of
ICT equipment.
