Built To Last
Although your Hilltop Hickory interior home
furniture is built and finished to withstand
years of use, proper care and maintenance
guidelines below will ensure that it lasts for
generations to come.
1. Avoid placing your furniture under windows or in
direct sunlight to prevent fading.
2. Extreme changes in temperature or humidity
cause wood to contract or swell, so keep furniture
away from radiators, heating/cooling vents and air
conditioning units. Humidity must be 40-50% to
prevent damage to hardwood furniture.
3. Use pads or felt under plastic, rubber, hot dishes,
drinks, bookends, vases or other décor to protect the
finish.
4. Rotate items on your furniture’s top periodically to
prevent variations in color and avoid scratches by
lifting items from the surface rather than dragging
them.
5. Clean up spills immediately by blotting with a soft,
absorbent cloth. Do Not Use anything with alcohol
or acetone it can cause severe damage to the finish.
6. Dust frequently with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth,
rubbing with the grain rather than against it.
7. Approximately twice each year, polish your furniture
with a polish containing detergents, emulsifiers and
mineral oil using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. Silicone
cleaners and waxes are not recommended.
