and canned food. Whereas the consumption of vegetables and<br />

fruits decreases the cancer incidence rate.<br />

Regular physical activity plays a great role in the prevention of<br />

cancer, in this context, the PNSCCP considers the followings:<br />

- preparing and implementing guidelines on healthy diet<br />

and physical activity<br />

- Setting a national policy and action plan – in cooperation<br />

with related main stakeholders - as regards food and<br />

nutrition focusing on food borne cancer diseases.<br />

- Establishing a reliable Nutritional Surveillance system,<br />

- Launching campaigns for mass media, information and<br />

education to the targeted people to encourage healthy<br />

diet systems and physical exercise.<br />

- Creating healthy school environment as well as student<br />

and youth programs through the following:<br />

- To set suitable strategies to foster school and youth health<br />

policies<br />

- To encourage enrolment of healthy diet systems and<br />

physical<br />

activity in the school and youth health policies.<br />

- To encourage regular physical activity practice at schools<br />

through the enrolment of nutrition and physical activity<br />

in school curriculum.<br />

- Creating a healthy environment through the following:<br />

Promotion of healthy diet<br />

Promotion and support of healthy physical activity<br />

- setting transportation policies which facilitate active<br />

transport to schools and work places such as walking, and<br />
