Boeing 737 breaks single-year record for orders and deliveries
Boeing reached a record for year-to-date 737 deliveries with the delivery of the 377th
Next-Generation 737 on December 4th. The delivery of the airplane, a 737-900ER
(Extended Range) with Boeing Sky Interior for United Airlines, topped the previous
record of 376 deliveries set in 2010. In October, the 737 also broke its own record for
net orders in a single year when it topped the 2007 record of 846 orders. Net year-todate
orders for the Next-Generation 737 and 737 MAX total 1,031 airplanes. This also
is the first time in the single-aisle jetliner’s history that it has logged more than 1,000
orders in a single year.

Iraqi Airways takes delivery of first
Airbus A330
Iraqi Airways, the national carrier of Iraq,
took delivery of its first A330-200 becoming
a new operator for the type. This will be the
first Airbus widebody aircraft to be operated
by Iraqi Airways. The carrier already operates
two A321 aircraft. Accommodating a twoclass
configuration of 24 business and 264
economy seats, the aircraft is powered by
GE CF6-80 engines and will be deployed on
European routes including Germany, Austria
and the UK.
Eighth A380 financed in the capital
markets brings Doric’s Asset Portfolio
to $7bn
The delivery of Doric’s 18th Airbus A380
under management on November 30th concluded
the aircraft acquisitions for the Doric
Alpha EETC transaction closed in June this
year. Doric’s aviation portfolio now comprises
35 aircraft valued at about $7bn. Doric
Nimrod Air Finance Alpha Limited (Doric
Alpha) took delivery of its fourth and final
Airbus A380 bearing the manufacturer’s serial
number (MSN) 110 on November 30th,
2012 in Hamburg. The first two A380s were
delivered in October and the third superjumbo
earlier in November 2012. All four
aircraft are leased to Emirates for a period
of 12 years.
XL Airways France takes delivery of
one new A330-300 from GECAS
GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS)
delivered a new leased Airbus A330-300
aircraft to XL Airways France. The aircraft
comes from GECAS’ existing order book
with Airbus and expands the airline’s fleet.
This is the first A330-300 joining the XL Airways
France fleet.
Qatar Airways endorses larger A350
XWB models
Qatar Airways and Airbus signed an amendment
to convert its existing firm order for
twenty (20) A350-800s, forty (40) A350-
900s and twenty (20) A350-1000s to forty
three (43) A350-900s and thirty seven (37)
A350-1000s. Qatar Airways’ total order for
A350 XWB aircraft remains at eighty (80)
aircraft.

Transaero chooses Fokker Services on
LED cabin wash lighting system
Fokker Services announced the introduction
and integration of EMTEQ’s eFIT LED
cabin wash lighting as an economical retrofit
solution for their Russian customer
Transaero Airlines on the Boeing 737-800
aircraft. The system not only replaces the
traditional white fluorescent tubes by LED
light sticks but also introduces blue mood
lighting for the ceiling lights. The first installation
has been completed successfully and
MSN 33982 is already operating with the
renewed LED lighting system.
Turkish Technic signs agreement with
Azerbaijan Airlines for 10 sets A320
Family landing gear overhaul services
Turkish Technic signed a five-year landing
gear maintenance services agreement with
Azerbaijan Airlines, for 10 sets of A320
Family aircraft. Landing gear removal & installation
and landing gear overhaul activities
will be carried out at Turkish Technic’s
Istanbul facilities. Turkish Technic also supports
Azerbaijan Airlines with its spare units
during shop visits.
Hawthorne named authorized Honeywell
avionics dealer for private jets
Hawthorne Global Aviation Services was selected
as an authorized Honeywell Avionics
dealer, providing installation, sales and service
for a full range of Honeywell Avionics
products at its FBO and Part 145 repair station
located at Long Island MacArthur Airport
in Islip, NY. As an authorized Honeywell
Avionics dealer, Hawthorne offers a range of
avionics installation and maintenance services
for private jets. Its first installation, under
the deal, was a Honeywell AIS-2000 satellite
TV system on a GV private jet. Hawthorne
also provides installation for the HD 710 in-
Evergreen Apple Nigeria expands maintenance offering following AMO
certification
Lagos-based Evergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN), the first fully integrated FBO, maintenance
and hangar facility for business jets to open at Murtala Mohammed Airport, announced
ahead of MEBA, that it has achieved Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) certification
from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. The EAN workshops are already
fully equipped for maintenance of SAFT batteries and aircraft wheels across a range of
aircraft including Dornier
328, Bombardier Learjet
family, Challenger and
Evergreen Apple Nigeria (above)has achieved AMO certification
EAN
Global Express types. The
new AMO status means
that EAN can now undertake
wheels and battery
service provision on a
wider variety of Nigerian
registered aircraft types
and takes EAN one step
closer to its long term
goal of being able to offer
full line maintenance in
Nigeria for Nigerian registered
aircraft.
