The art of curing diseases by expectation contains Harvey's remarks on a case of apoplectic<br />

fits, as well as his observations on coughs, consumptions, stone, dropsies, fevers, and small<br />

pox. Harvey (1625-1700) was born in Holland and studied medicine at Leyden before moving<br />

his practice to London. He was physician to Charles II and William III.<br />

cracked ca 4 cm to upper and 2 cm to lower spine, inlay and plates in very good condition<br />

(virtually no foxing and no tears).<br />

Contains an interesting historical account of the discovery of the lymphatic system (7 pp).<br />
