Humes Sanger Phylloscopus humei, Sumba, Suðuroy, 12.10-08.Lille Gråsisken Carduelis cabaret, Klaksvik, Suðuroy, 21.10-09.Lille Gråsisken Carduelis cabaret, Viðareiði, Viðoy, 18.11-09.Skandinavisk Hvidsisken Carduelis hornemanni exilipes, Reyðskalli, Tórshavn, Streymoy, 27.2-08.SummaryRare birds in the Faroe Islands in <strong>2007</strong>, <strong>2008</strong> and <strong>2009</strong>In <strong>2007</strong>-<strong>2009</strong> the Danish Rarities Committee (Sjældenhedsudvalget/SU) accepted 186 records fromthe Faroe Islands, a very large number compared to earlier years, and especially <strong>2009</strong> wasremarkable. 11 species were new to the Faroese list: Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis, Great Egret Ardeaalba, Lesser Scaup Aythya affinis, Black Kite Milvus migrans, Mediterranean Gull Larusmelanocephalus, Red-rumped Swallow Hirundo daurica, Pechora Pipit Anthus gustavi, CitrineWagtail Motacilla citreola, Red-flanked Bluetail Tarsiger cyanurus, Pallas´s Leaf Warbler Locustellacerthiola <strong>og</strong> Subalpine Warbler Sylvia cantillans. Second records were Bean Goose Anser fabalisSmew Mergellus albellus, Sandwich Terne Sterna sandvicensis, Melodious Warbler Hippolaispolyglotta and Rustic Bunting Emberiza rustica. New subspecies were Lesser Great CormorantPhalacrocorax carbo sinensis and Tundra Bean Goose Anser fabalis rossicus. A new breedingspecies was Grey Wagtail Motacilla cinerea. The last part of the winter <strong>2009</strong> brought an unusualinflux of Iceland Gulls Larus glaucoides with many individuals showing characters of subspecieskumlieni – 16 were accepted, and this is by far the biggest number documented.The details given are 1) year and date, 2) locality and island, 3) number of birds if more thanone, 4) sex, 5) other details, e.g. død = dead, ringm. = ringed, 6) observer. Documentation by photo(foto), video, audiotape (bånd) or specimen (skind, død) is indicated.The list of species and subspecies which need an acceptance of the rarities committee has beenreduced with 23 species from 2010.
