SYNOPSIS . KURZ<br />
Ein Banküberfall in einer Kleinstadt. Der Polizist Arved Minks findet heraus, dass<br />
der umstellte Bankräuber sein eigener Sohn ist. Doch um ihn zu befreien, braucht<br />
Arved in dieser Nacht ein Wunder.<br />

A bank robbery in a small town. Police officer ARVED MINKS discovers that the bank<br />
robber is his own son. But to save his son’s life Arved needs a miracle.<br />
SYNOPSIS . LANG<br />
Eine verschlafene Kleinstadt. Der Polizist ARVED MINKS wird als erster auf einen<br />
Banküberfall aufmerksam. Schnell ist die Bank von seinen Kollegen umstellt, alle<br />
Fluchtwege für die Geiselnehmer sind blockiert. Doch bald muss Arved entdecken,<br />
dass er es nicht mit irgendeinem Täter zu tun hat: Der Geiselnehmer ist sein eigener<br />
Sohn JACOB. Doch als er bemerkt, dass Jacob nicht auf eigene Faust handelt, sondern<br />
Spielball in einem ausgeklügelten Verbrechen ist, beginnt für Arved eine mörderische<br />
Achterbahn-Fahrt, die ihn mit seiner verdrängten Vergangenheit konfrontiert.<br />
In dieser Nacht bewegt Arved nur noch eine Frage: Wie weit muss man gehen, um zu<br />
schützen, was man liebt?<br />
SYNOPSIS . LONG<br />
A sleepy little town shaken by a bank robbery. ARVED MINKS is the first police officer<br />
at the crime scene. The bank is quickly surrounded by the police, every exit is blocked.<br />
Then Arved finds out that he is not dealing with any old bank robber. It’s his own son<br />
JACOB. When Arved realizes that Jacob is not acting on his own but is being used as an<br />
instrument in an intricate crime plot, a murderous roller coaster ride begins that confronts<br />
him with his repressed past. That night only one question remains: How far is he<br />
willing to go to protect what is most precious to him?<br />
REGIE<br />
Alex Eslam wurde 1983 in Mainz geboren. Von frühen Gangsterfilmen inspiriert,<br />
entschloss er sich schon in seiner Jugend Filme zu machen. Nach dem Abitur folgten<br />
verschiedene Praktika in Werbefilmproduktionen in München und Los Angeles.<br />
2005 begann er sein Studium im Bereich Spielfilm an der Filmakademie Baden-<br />
Württemberg. In seinem Auslandsjahr studierte Alex Theaterregie am renommierten<br />
Central Saint Martin’s College in London. Seither konnte er zahlreiche nationale und<br />
internationale Preise gewinnen wie z.B. den First Steps Award 2009. Seine Filme<br />
wurden auf dem New York International Film Festival, auf dem Los Angeles International<br />
Film Festival oder auf dem Max Ophüls Festival mit großer Begeisterung aufgenommen.<br />
BISSIGE HUNDE ist Alex’ Diplomfilm an der Filmakademie Baden-<br />
Württemberg und gleichzeitig sein Spielfilmdebüt. Ein Thriller, der in Koproduktion<br />
mit Sat 1 unter dem Dach von Wiedemann & Berg Television entstand.<br />
Director<br />
Alex Eslam was born in 1983 in Mainz, Germany. Inspired by early gangster movies<br />
as a child, Alex decided to become a filmmaker and started working at film production<br />
companies in Munich and L.A. Subsequently he enrolled at the Film Academy Baden-<br />
Württemberg/Germany to study directing.<br />
In 2009, Alex began further studies at the renowned Central Saint Martin’s College in<br />
London to get deeper into directing. After winning various awards both nationally and<br />
internationally, he recently finished his first feature film: VICIOUS DOGS, a thriller<br />
made in cooperation with the major German TV channel Pro7/Sat 1 and the Oscarwinning<br />
production company „Wiedemann & Berg“.
