Nelson Museum of the West & The Military Memorial Museum - Season Sponsor
Robert “Bob” Nelson, founder of the Nelson Museum of the West and the Military Memorial Museum, is a Wyoming
native. Born in Cheyenne in 1941, Mr. Nelson has been, and continues to be, an avid collector of all things Western. His
maternal grandparents were homesteaders near Newcastle, Wyoming and from this humble beginning, a Western
icon was born. Featured in numerous articles, including having been named as a “Legend of the West” in the acclaimed
“Persimmon Hill” publication, Mr. Nelson has built a collection to honorably and accurately “Preserve the Past for the
Future.”
The dream of The Nelson Museum was born on the plains of Africa, the outback of Australia, the bleakness of Siberia and
the rugged mountains of Spain and is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the world’s wildlife and the Old
West. Taxidermy displays of wildlife from every continent, a world-class Military exhibit from the Civic War to WWII,
fine Western art, a 3,500+ volume library, Cowboy and Native American collectibles, outlaw/lawmen history and special
exhibits of Sheriff George Carroll’s “office” and artist Burt Proctor’s studio are highlights. The Museum, opened in 1998,
has since earned a “gem attraction” rating with AAA Travel. The Military Memorial Museum, opened in 2021, was ten
years in the making. It represents and honors all branches of the Military from the Civil War to present. It’s been referred
to as “the best Military Museum this side of the Mississippi.”
www.nelsonmuseum.com and www.militarymemorialmuseum.org
Manitou Gallery Historic was established in 1975 in downtown Cheyenne as a sideline to Bob’s successful law practice.
MGH features historic fine art, sculpture, Indian pottery, basketry, beadwork and weaponry and Cowboy collectibles and
is open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Bob and his wife, Charla, have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. They dedicate their time and passion to their family, the
2
arts and their businesses.

ACCC History
All-City Children’s Chorus has been a part of Cheyenne’s music community for forty-seven seasons. Begun
under the auspices of the Laramie County School District #1 Music Department and the leadership of then
Elementary Music Coordinator, Mary Jo Morandin, All-City Children’s Chorus (ACCC) has seen over two
thousand children develop their musical talents and artistry while sharing their musical gifts with audiences
around the country.
Currently under the tutelage of Artistic Director Janet Weisbrook, Executive Director Mary Ann Fritz,
Associate Director Debbie Mathews, and Third Grade Choir Director Monica Hungington, the ACCC tradition
of beautiful choral tone, musical artistry and dedication to the choral art continues.

ACCC has received numerous accolades and awards through its forty-seven seasons. The Chorus has
performed at national and regional music conventions (NAfME, AOSA, ACDA) participated in multiple choral
festivals bringing home top honors consistently. The choir has performed for President Ronald Reagan, Vice-
President Dick Cheney and performed for special occasions, including Wyoming gubernatorial inaugurations,
Governor Prayer Breakfasts, lighting of the US Capitol Christmas Tree, and 9-11 Remembrances. ACCC
is extremely proud of being named a Wyoming Governor’s Arts Award winner in 2004. Last spring ACCC
performed at Curt Gowdy State Park for the grand opening of the Little House.

Singers in All-City Children’s Chorus have had opportunities to perform with nationally known composers,
conductors and musicians including Elena Sharkova, Henry Leck, Rodney Eichenberger, Judith Herrington,
Barbara Tagg, Jean Asworth Bartle, Jim Papoulis, Rollo Dilworth, Bob Chilcott, The Lettermen, Annie and Amy
Smith, Bob McGrath, University of Wyoming performance groups, and Cheyenne’s own Symphony Orchestra
and Chamber Singers. ACCC singers have also performed in two productions of “Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat” with Cheyenne Little Theatre and were selected to be the featured chorus in Carnegie
Hall. ACCC has released two CDs of its performances.
I am so honored to welcome you to the 48th season of the Cheyenne All-City Children’s Chorus.
It is a joy and a privilege to work with our gifted young musicians of Cheyenne, celebrating a new season in beautiful
song. We can never underestimate the talent of our young people, making the most of their musical abilities through
hard work and dedication.
The basis of this year’s season, Through the Eyes of a Child, came from the words of Henna Sohail – “See the world
through the eyes of your inner child. The eyes that sparkle in awe and amazement as they see love, magic and mystery in
the most ordinary things.”
Our concerts this season are celebrating these aspects. Mystery, Magic, Awe, and Amazement
We are exploring the world through music that celebrates different emotions and finding new ways to interact with each
other and the world around us, knowing that through all the ordinary things, there can be greatness.
Mary Jo Morandin’s dream of having a children’s choir in Cheyenne became a reality in 1976 under the direction of Marcia
Patton. Since then, our children’s choir has been led by Judy Harmon, Becky Tish, Kathy Borgaard, Diane Hultgren,
Marilyn Collins, and Vincent Mingils. These wonderful musicians and educators have shared their own unique styles to
provide a quality musical experience for our young people. I am so honored to follow in their footsteps.
I am incredibly thankful to share the leadership of this organization with our outstanding staff – Mary Ann Fritz, Debbie
Mathews, Alaina Neimann, Jennifer Lyttle, and Amber Thompson. We are grateful for the financial support from all the
businesses and individuals that help us with operating expenses. Every donation is a valuable gift. Thank you to our
audiences who share in our joy of music making and our successes of building incredible young musicians.
And may you always look at life Through the Eyes of A Child.
Musically,
Janet Weisbrook
