WHY FISH OILS?
There's something 'fishy' about the balance between
amounts of Omega 6 (vegetable oil) and Omega 3 (fish oil)
in pet foods. Fatty acids are beneficial for inflammatory
conditions and other other health issues but it is
important to get the right ratio between fish oils and
vegetable oils.
Price controls how much vegetable oil is in pet food
compared with costlier fish oils. Too much vegetable oil is
known, in some cases, to promote inflammation and
possible cancer growth. Dry coat, itching and skin allergies
are the first signs that your pet's system is not functioning
well.
The Fact is...because we care
Omega 6 is high in ALA (alpha linolenic acid), an essential
fatty acid found naturally in the individual body cells of a
pet, and cannot be converted to Omega 3 - as in humans.
Supplementing wet or dry pet foods with Omega 3 fish oil
thus replaces the deficiency.
Being high in Omega 3 fish oils helps to support the
physical and mental ability of your pet. Initially they were
recommended in treating allergies but are now advocated
in cases of kidney disease, elevated cholesterol and
arthritis. Recent studies show the following benefits:
• anti bacterial properties • anti allergic reactions to
itching from bites or stings • anti inflammatory • calming
effects to the body and mind • ease pain from wounds
• aid mobility to joints and muscles • support immune
system, stamina and well-being • ease constant moulting

A natural healthy diet provides all round nutrition but it's
important to follow feeding guidelines, as
over-supplementation of Omega 3 can cause side effects,
such as depletion of vitamin E, resulting in muscle
weakness, loss of balance, eye problems and impaired
immune response. The addition of resveratrol (fruits), and
ascorbic acid, rosemary, oregano and lecithin oils and
vegetables provides plenty of
antioxidants to preserve the vitamin
E, ultimately preventing other
health issues from any side effects.
