I believe that “Engineering” is immerse into all our life, though we do not take
this much in our thinking. Our everyday life should be very different from what it
actually is without the formidable achievements of “Engineering”.
Engineering is a profession in which intelligence, talent, ingeniousness,
creativity, inventiveness and skill have fundamental roles, but purpose, will, dedication,
involvement, effort, honorability and uprightness are also essential, as we can
appreciate in the most transcendental accomplishments of the most distinguished
engineers.
If we would try to synthesize in one word the combined meaning of the words
“purpose”, “will”, “dedication”, “involvement” and “effort”, I believe that the most
representative term is the english word “commitment”.
This compact and at the same time powerful term describes the attitude of
honorable and upright men that are capable to conceive a purpose and employ their
intelligence and energy to attain it.
