Posada Museum
Está ubicado en un edificio de gran valor histórico que
data de 1850 y que albergó al Templo del Encino, posteriormente
dio cabida a diversas oficinas de gobierno.
En 1972, el inmueble fue remodelado e inaugurado el 16
de septiembre del mismo año para exhibir la obra del
José Guadalupe Posada. En 1990 le fueron adaptados
nuevos espacios para exposición y en ellos exhibir obra
en papel. Con fondos del conaculta, en 1997 su material
museístico fue renovado mediante el Programa de Apoyo
a la Infraestructura Cultural de los Estados.
Cuenta con cuatro salas de exhibición y un patio central
con nueve arcos de punto. En una de sus salas permanentes
se puede apreciar la obra de Posada y en otra
la de Manuel Manilla. También exhibe una colección de
obras ganadoras del Concurso Nacional de Grabado
José Posada, que dada su importancia sirve como parámetro
para conocer los trabajos de calidad que realizan
los grabadores mexicanos.

The museum is located in a high value historic building from
1850 that in older days was the Templo del Encino (Oak
temple); it was used also thru history as government offices.
In 1972 the building was deeply restored and opened the
16 of September, National Independence day, of that year,
with the exhibit of José Guadalupe Posada work –one of
the best known a most representative printers and engravers
of Mexico–. In 1990 new spaces were adapted as
show rooms to exhibit he’s paper work. Funds from the
National Council for Arts and Culture were used in 1997 to
renovate it the budget came from the Support Program
for the Cultural Infrastructure of the States.
By now the building has four show rooms and a Central
Patio surrounded by nine arches. One of the main rooms
has the artwork of Posada and another one has the work
of Manuel Manilla – another great Mexican printer-
The museum also exhibits a wide collection of pieces that
won the José Guadalupe Posada National Engraving Contest
that because of its importance is used as way to measure
the quality of the printing that Mexican artist do.
